Furrowing her eyebrows, Midori looked at Ni-ki's leaving form, a laugh of disbelief leaving her lips.

Naito eyed Ni-ki, finding great annoyance in his behaviour towards Midori.

'What do you need help with?' Naito asked, moving over to her by the stove.

'The vegetables, if you could cut them. . .'

'Of course,' he said, taking hold of the closest knife.

'I met K-hyung today. . .' Naito trailed off, glancing at Midori to see her reaction, only to see her hold that familiar poker face of hers.

'What did he say?' Midori asked, dicing a piece of chicken.

'He wondered why he hadn't seen you these past weeks. He doesn't know you've been practising at the JYP Entertainment building,' Naito told her, knife slicing through the vegetables.

'Did you tell him I was away?' she questioned, moving over to the stove where the pan with peanut oil had been prepared.

'Yeah,' Naito nodded. 'And. . . I also met someone else.'

      'Oh?'

'Kaycee was there, practising with them,' he mumbled, voice dropping. 'She and Ta-ki seemed pretty close.'

'Kaycee?!' Midori exclaimed in a questioning voice, memories flooding her mind.

'Kaycee. . . Kaycee Chen. . . the one who pushed you into that table,' he nodded.

      'Did you talk to her?'

'No, I just saw her, but I swear, Midori it was her━'

'I believe you,' Midori cut him off, giving him a firm nod. 'I believe you. . .'

His voice lowered. 'Midori, what the fuck is she doing here? She never had any interest in performing or dancing or singing. Sure, she has a pretty face but never once did she even bat an eye towards Korea.'

Slowly shaking his head, Midori wasn't sure what she was supposed to say. 'I don't know Naito. Maybe she changed her mind about wanting to be a doctor?'

'She's still in your class, right?'

'She is,' Midori said, confirming his words. 'Can I do anything about it? Talk to her? Tell her to fuck off?'

'No,' Naito said, shaking his head at her. 'I don't want you anywhere near her.'

      'Naito━'

'No, Midori,' Naito cut her off, dropping the knife to turn his full attention to her.

'You have your own problems to care about,' he said. 'Besides we're in different companies and it's not decided if she'll debut or not. She's just practising with them.'

Hands on her shoulders, Naito looked into her eyes. 'Let's just ignore her and focus on K-hyung, okay? And Hyunjin-sunbaenim too, I know something happened between the two of you, I can see that familiar look in your eyes.'

A small smile made its way to her lips at the mention of him. In an instant, it was as if those past words and worries about Kaycee seemed to disappear.

'Yeah. . .' she trailed off with a small chuckle. 'Something did happen.'

      'And. . ?'

'And I don't know what's going to happen next,' she admitted, looking up at him.

'What happened?' Ni-ki suddenly spoke up, having returned from his little trip to the living room.

'Why do you want to know?' Naito asked ━ perhaps a bit harsher than usual, taking both Midori and Ni-ki off-guard.

Pressing his tongue to his cheek, Ni-ki slightly moved, his discomfort showing. 'I don't,' he muttered, walking back to his place beside Heeseung in the living room.

'Children,' Naito muttered, rolling his eyes in the process.

'What's wrong?' Midori asked, not having caught onto it all quite yet.

'Has he not been acting a bit rude towards you?' Naito asked.

Giving him a thoughtful look, Midori couldn't help but agree. 'I suppose he has.'

Midori wasn't one that was oblivious to people's feelings. She was fairly sure that Ni-ki was jealous of Hyunjin and possibly quite sad that Midori spent a lot of time with Hyunjin, rather than spending it with him. Ni-ki wasn't one to be subtle about it either, making small and snarky comments whenever he could.

The mood had been quite gloomy because of it, but no one seemed to give a second thought about it.

'Whatever,' Naito muttered with a light shrug. 'What exactly happened?'

'Well. . .' she trailed off, not sure how to word it for Naito so he wouldn't make a big fuss. 'We kissed.'

He almost dropped his jaw.

'Oh?' Naito raised his eyebrows in surprise. 'How was it?'

      'Nice━?'

'Would you. . . do it again?' Naito inquired.

'I would. . .' Midori trailed off, voice lowering for the conversation was a tad embarrassing.

      'Oh?!' Naito exclaimed.

'We'll see where it goes. I mean, it might not have meant anything so whatev━'

'Did it mean something for you?' Naito cut her off.

Midori turned quiet for a split second, digging deep into her heart to find an answer.

'Yeah,' she nodded. 'It did mean something.'
