toxic relationships

In the cold anticipation of winter, I found solace in the tender melodies of my favorite singer's brand new album, a gift you had just shared with me. Amidst the captivating tunes, memories of our past echoed in my mind.

You were a mystery, keeping your exes and beautifully written poetry locked away, never revealing them to me. That day, as we stood together, I thought I saw a glimpse of vulnerability in you, while I bared my heart openly, like an unguarded book. But, to my dismay, that glimpse was fleeting, and the truth left me shattered.

Confusion engulfed me as I wondered why you chose to remain distant. Did you not love me enough, or did you fear to trust me with your innermost thoughts? The pain of uncertainty pierced my heart, yet even amidst the ache, I missed you with a fervor that consumed me whole.

The once-cherished conversations we shared became scarce, slipping through my fingers like grains of sand, leaving me yearning for your voice day after day, from November's chill to the warmth of May.

The emptiness seemed endless, a void that only your presence could fill. I longed to see your smile again, to be the reason behind your happiness. But we found ourselves caught in a relentless struggle, drowning in the toxicity of our own emotions and suffering at the hands of cruelty we could not escape.

Despite the proximity we shared, we remained strangers to each other's souls. We never dared to lock eyes and witness the depths of our beings, as fear and hesitation held us captive in an emotional limbo.

Yet, the darkness that surrounded us, a tiny glimmer of hope endured, a spark that whispered of a love worth fighting for. I yearned to mend the shattered pieces of our bond, to break free from the chains of silence and distrust, and to embrace the raw vulnerability that could lead us back to each other's arms. For deep down, I knew that our souls held a connection that transcended the barriers we created, and all I wished for was a chance to rekindle the flame of our love and find our way back to one another.
