We left admin ironically just in time for lunch to begin. Jordan wouldn't stop checking on me to make sure I was ok. Despite being literally fucking shoved to the ground and kicked at like I was some sort of protestor, I felt little pain. Not like I was numb or something, but i just felt durable against my attackers; a blessing of some sorts, I suppose.
As soon as we all walked into the lunch room, nearly everyone looked at us. I had already come to the realization that due to this event, word about who I truly was had inevitably gotten out, but at this point, I was ready to accept any who dared to tell me I was wrong about it.
Montero, Summer and Nayvadius ran right up to me as I entered. Monty gave Jordan a dirty look before pulling me into a tight hug like the ones we shared in the bathroom. The first part seemed unnecessary, but I rolled with it.
"Oh my god, please don't tell me those fags hurt you." Monty told me, pulling me tightly towards him as both Summer and Nayvadius observed me to find any injuries.
"Y'all," I exclaimed, spreading my arms out, "I'm fine; I ain't hurt." They spread out from me, and Monty said, "Hey, I'm just checking, so if you're upset about me caring, that's a whole different issue."
I laughed, as everyone started walking back towards the table. I had come in late, and didn't really feel like eating after, well, you know what I had just gone through, so I followed everyone else to the table. I turned back to see Jordan, my Carti, all alone.
"Jordy," I told him, walking up to him, "come sit with us." He smiled and replied, "Aight, bet."
Jordan followed me to the table at which deadass everybody was crowding around. Not only was it just Nayvadius, Montero and Summer, Jaden, Willow and Robin returned, Rakim, Miles, Sheyaa and Amala came to hear the story, Nicki and Billie had shown up at the request of Summer, and with the arrival of Jordan, in came both Caleb and Travis.
I sat down, once again reiterating the tale of me getting viscously attacked and being equally as viscously reused by Sheyaa and everyone else involved, being sure not to leave out the help put in by Jordan and Robin as well as both Jaden and Willow.
Monty and Nayvadius wouldn't stop talking about how excited they were for the homecoming game that was taking place later in the night. To be fair, I was pretty hyped too, and after the day I had, the magic of high school football in America might've been exactly what I needed.
Even though the omnipresent thoughts of the homecoming game that night were fresh within my brain, there was one thought that continued to linger on. As he pulled me up off the ground, he claimed he was sorry for something. It didn't make any sense, since I had already forgiven him for the whole incessant at my house just the night prior in Caleb's Cadillac. However, I couldn't stop thinking about it, even in the presence of everyone's watchful eyes.
As a result, once I had left lunch, I tapped on Jordan's taller-than-me shoulder, and motioned for him to follow me. He did so promptly. I led him to hallway which was typically has a low population density of students, especially during this time of the day, but it was perfect for me to be able to talk to Jordan in the private setting that I desired.
Jordan looked at me, somewhat bewildered. "What do you need, Sy?" he asked me.
"Why were you apologizing earlier?" I asked him. Jordan smiled, but his eyes were sad, contrary to his bright smile and cheeks. I exchanged with the sad and questioning eyes I had been known for, making him lightly laugh.
