I really got to work on not appearing weird with this whole brain condition.
Yah think?
I ignored my brain.
"Hey Mariss you'll want to see this." Tracie said.
I peeked thru the door and saw Ethan shooting hoops. Seriously that's all he did stay after school; do sports/workout. That's the opposite of what I wanted. I was expecting something embarrassing but instead it was something hot.
Did I really just say that?
Yes, yes you did.
No I didn't Ethan isn't hot.
Sounds more like you're trying to convince yourself.
First of all, you said that already and second I'm trying to convince and assure you.
I am you dummy!
I growled internally and turned to Kelly and Tracie who were still staring at Ethan's workout session or whatever you want to call it.
"Okay thanks you guys. You can leave now this mission was a bust anyways."
"Told you." Tracie said while still staring away at Ethan.
I hated that they were affected by Ethan's looks. I mean couldn't they look underneath all that and realise that he was an annoying.... well he was just annoying.
"Do we have to go?!" Kelly said whining.
"You're lucky I'm letting you. Now go on." I said pushing them out the door. They whined while walking towards the door.
"Fine let's go." Kelly said. I didn't move. "Aren't you coming?"
"Yeah I'm just going to get stuff in my locker you guys can leave without me since I'll probably go to the library."
"She probably just wants to check him out alone in private so we don't think she likes him." I heard Tracie whisper to Kelly.
I gagged and they just laugh knowing I had heard them. I started gathering my stuff and headed towards the door. It was locked I tried and tried to open it but it wouldn't budge.
Oh my goodness! Tracie and Kelly locked me in so I would be force to go out in the gym and eventually talk to Ethan. Those evil brats I couldn't believe them. Well actually, this was totally expected from Tracie but Kelly, she must have been held up against her will.
You should be happy there giving you something to do instead of your normal sad and loner afternoons.
It is really amazing how one of the biggest insults I've ever gotten was technically from me.
Ah well I try.
I peeked through the door and the universe had really granted me luck then. Ethan wasn't there; I guessed he must have left. But I didn't want to take any chances to meeting him in the hallways so I decided to just go through the back door that lead right to the outside of the school.
I heard some screams and clapping and I immediately turned left towards the commotion. There was a crowd and I pushed through them which was a lot easier said than done. When I finally got to the front of the crowd I spotted Ethan and some other boy or should I say man talking to each other. It appeared that a fight was brewing faster then coffee.
"You're going to get it kid."
"Shut up Duncan I've beaten you many times this is just another walk in the park."
"Oh that's it."
The man threw a punch. I closed my eyes. I hated violence even hearing about it disturbs me. I heard a crushing of bones and winced. I hope Ethan was okay. I opened one eye and saw that it was in fact the man who had taken the beating. I started jumping and yelling.
"Yeah that's right in your face bully! Ethan got you, he got you real good!" Suddenly everyone's eyes turned to me and my face immediately went blank.
Nice going stupid! You got us caught!
Everyone started approaching me with dark eyes. They were coming closer and closer and the closer they came the more I panicked.
"Ethan! Ethan!" I yelled at him searching for backup. "Ethan!"
I was immediately grabbed by the waist and hoisted onto someone's shoulder.
"Get me down! Get me down!!" I kept screaming while pounding on their back. Finally they put me down.
"God Marissa it's just me!" He said anger clearly pouring out of every inch of his face. "What were you doing there you could've gotten killed or raped!" he yelled. I had never seen his green eyes so dark. I couldn't tell if it was because of the fight or the fact that I was annoying him with my presence. Guess the tables have turned.
I opened my mouth to answer but he interrupted. "Let's just get to my car. You'll explain things there." He said firmly walking over to his car not even bothering to look if I followed but I did.
I was in real trouble now. Stupid matchmaker friends of mine!
