Chapter 7 | A strange encounter

I was walking home, it was dark outside.

It had been officially been 24 hours since I became Girl Danger.

My life had changed into those 24 hours.

I crossed at the traffic lights and walked along the pavement, until I heard a rattle in the bushes.

I thought it was just an animal, until I got dragged in the bush.

I screamed.

It was Charlotte.

She covered by mouth so I couldn't speak.

"Shhhhh! Be quiet!" She whispered.

I stopped screaming, she took her hand off my mouth.

"What are you doing in the bushes?" I whispered.

"Ever since you walked into the store, you've caused trouble, you've taken away everything. My crush. My place as GIRL DANGER. You've only been here five minutes and you've stolen all my hard work away from me. Oh and I know Henry likes you, and I know you like him, so don't act like you don't, I-"

"But I-"

"SHUT UP!" Charlotte shouted.

"And now you're gonna pay, ohhh yes you are, I hate you, Alana. You don't know what's coming, I'm going to get my crush back, my life back. See you at work."

She pushed me to the floor.

She ran off, leaving me in the bushes.

I was speechless.

I didn't know what had just happened.

I walked the rest of the journey home crying.

I entered my house, thank god mom was asleep in her room, I didn't want her to see me upset.

I went into my room and shut my door, I collapsed on my bed.

What did I do wrong for her to hate me? What was going to happen to me?

I went to sleep.
