Usually the obvious sign of a summer morning on the island were the cries of seagulls and the bright sun that would expose its warming rays. The green field of the tropical rainforest that surrounded the island flamboyantly stood out on days like this too, so it wasn't a surprise to notice some of the rare flowers make their comeback. On occasions like these, Mothra would come and collect these flowers as they were very rich in nutrients, but accumulating herbs on various parts of the earth was more of her preferred method of routine. After all, she got to soar the sky and get a nice little break from the island - and not to mention checking on the humans and seeing what the other titans were up to.

This was also the reason why when Echo awoke, he immediately noticed that both Godzilla and Mothra weren't in the cave with him. That's alright. They almost always woke up before he did anyway. The baby titan then groggily proceeded to regain his energy by shaking off any dirt that overlapped his body. Without Godzilla or Mothra to aid him, Echo had no choice but to stay in the cave until one of them returned. In the meantime, the baby plesiosaur had the options of exploring the cave for any critters he could eat or play around in his pond. His mouth of razor-sharp teeth gaped open into a lazy yawn before he hopped out from the hole to do the latter.

He stopped however when his nostrils detected the smell of fresh breakfast coming from somewhere nearby. Turning towards the source, a fresh half of a blue whale was sitting near the end of the cave for him. It had been there for quite sometime now as flies were swarming it and the blood was already starting its process of drying from such exposure to the sun. Godzilla was also nowhere in sight to greet Echo so this implied that he had returned to the ocean shortly after dropping off the food. The smell of the whale intrigued the hatchling so much that his interest in the pool ceased so he could focus on his first meal of today.

The lower half of the whale was twice the plesiosaur's size so going for the insides was easier to start with rather than trying to pry the skin off. Echo's teeth weren't sharp enough to penetrate this part of the whale just yet, so he was only able to eat from the inside out since flesh would be easier to strip off than skin. Echo didn't hesitate and eagerly began eating as he dug deep into his food, swallowing loose pieces he managed to pry off hungrily. Echo gobbled down a strip of tissue he managed to pry off, but immediately released a loud hack when his fast-paced eating almost made him choke it back up. After about thirty minutes of nonstop eating, Echo had finished most of the whale with his body now stained in its reeking fluids.

Echo paused and tilted his head, churtling contently when his senses started picking up another scent followed by a call for his name. No, make that two scents and two cries for his name! Godzilla and Mothra had returned! The hatchling responded to the king and queen with a roar that carried his unique cry that earned him his name, accepting their call.

The island trembled under Godzilla's steps as he walked to the mountain while Mothra continued to soar the sky and scan for any intruders that may have followed them back. Upon reaching the mountain, Godzilla leaned his head down towards the mouth of the cave to wish Echo a good morning. The lizard's golden eyes filled with utmost attachment when the joyous plesiosaur began to nuzzle and lick his snout.

Mothra screeched to Godzilla, informing him that no threats were nearby, and the king lifted his head to watch her fly down to land atop of the mountain. She then proceeded to crawl downward towards the cave opening to also wish their prince a good morning. Echo cooed at his mother in response, but not before hearing Godzilla take a few deep whiffs of something.

The smell of bodily fluids from fresh insides the prince was covered in caught Godzilla's senses, making it apparent that the baby titan once again got dirty in his meal. Mothra moved aside when Godzilla leaned his head down to begin licking the young kaiju clean. Echo knew this meant bath-time and made a break for it, but the king dropped his claws atop of the plesiosaur to keep him from fleeing. Godzilla then proceeded with the process of grooming his son clean.
