Robert's P.O.V

I stare up at the ceiling, laying down in bed. What was the whole point in getting up? Every day, the same thing with no result, looking for someone that no one knows the name of, or her age, nor how she looks, or even if she exists! This person my ancestors have been looking for all their lifetime, and no one has a clue about her. They're all nuts. Everyone keeps telling me about our history... werewolves I mean, how we defeated and overthrew a corrupt kingdom where its King and Queen were a wizard and a witch. Now it seems that their daughter was sent to the future and is going to control everyone if we don't kill her. Seriously, who would believe that.

I sat up, sighing. Ok I get that I'm a werewolf, someone who has no explanation of existing in this world, because there's no way a human can change forms from a guy to a wolf. So, how come I cant believe that this girl exists? Well, let me think about it again. Years and years of searching and nothing, nada, zero. So my conclusion: This girl does NOT exist. Even if she did, we would at least have clues that she's somewhere out there, like maybe a headline saying, "Mysterious girl found to be a witch with magical powers that can control people and kill whoever she wants. Werewolves, here she is"

Well, maybe not that headline.

But if she did exist, we would have found a sign of her; a murder of a town where the killer used no weapons but some spells; people starting to act weird, like if in control of someone else... Oh I don't know, but something is better that nothing. And so far, all we have is nothing.

A knock on the door interrupts my thoughts. "Robert, are you up already?" My dad asks.

"Yeah," I answer back, "I'll be out in a sec," I say getting up. I didn't have a choice. I had to go.

I went and took a quick shower, getting dressed and going downstairs where my dad was sitting... alone. Where was everyone else?

"Where you planning on not going today?" My dad asks when he sees me

"No, just sleeping a little longer" I said, deciding to stay standing.

His eyes scan my face to see if I'm lying. Of course I'm lying. I wish I didn't always have to go on these stupid trainings and searches. He keeps staring but then waves it off, finding no hint of lies. And he never will. I'm a very good liar.

"Well," he continues " Today you have the choice of staying if you want"

I stopped. Did I just hear that I could take today off?

He saw my expression, "What? Oh you think I'm joking?"

I actually thought there was something else in this. Something I might not like. "No, but why suddenly this?"

"Nothing really. Your mom just wanted you to stay today. Hey you did notice the new neighbors move in yesterday?" I nod "Well she just wants you to go with her to welcome them here. It looks like they have a girl a year younger than you and by what your mom tells me, she's in great need of a friend" he said

"Oh and you think I'm the one for that job?" I asked in disbelief "Are you sure there are no tricks in this?"

He chuckled "No, Robert. I know I give hard jobs or push you to your extremes, but there's nothing like that here"

"Ok.... well, I guess you better be going" i told him. I didn't want him to change his mind now that I finally had my wish. Well, maybe part of it, because I was stuck with mom to meet the neighbors. But dad had said something about the new girl needing friends. Maybe she was shy or just needed confidence, since she was new to town.

Matt, Brandon and Ethan came downstairs. They were all older than me, 24, 21 and 19, so pretty much they already knew how to hunt and search and all those things. Me, I'm just learning. That's why all those hard jobs, 'Preparing me for what's to come' like my dad says.

"Alright Robert" Matt said patting my back "Today you take it easy, just dont give trouble to mom"

"And dont scare the new neighbors" Ethan said opening the door and walking outside

I rolled my eyes and followed them outside "Yeah, Im sure I'll it'll be nothing compared to when they see you"

"Now dont start again." My dad warned from behind us.

I ignored him and looked over to the neighbors house. Outside, I could see a girl sitting down at the front porch. She seemed to be thinking, oblivious to the racket that my brothers were making. What could she be doing outside at seven in the morning.

"Hey dad" Ethan said "Do you think maybe the witch knows about us and isn't making a move because of that?" That brought me back from staring at the neighbor.

Witch. That's how they call the girl. I prefer calling her the girl or just the mysterious girl, it sounded more realistic, unlike witch, who seem to be taken out of a fairytale.... Yes I know I'm a werewolf, but we’re not talking about me.

"Lets not think like that" my dad answered him, in a lower voice. "Hopefully, her parents didn't send her with memories of what happened on the day she was sent to the future.”

Here we go. Now he's going start talking about how if we cooperate and search and train, we will find her.

"Well, go off to do your duties" I said before he could say anything "I'll go do mine" I started walking to the neighbors house, ignoring Ethan's voice as he realized how cute the neighbor was.

She didn't seem like she noticed me at first. I stood in front of her for a minute, looking at her stare at the roses in the garden. "Hi" I told her. She must have jumped a foot and I couldn't help but smile. "I'm Robert"

She looked at me shyly, not saying anything at first.

"I live right there" I pointed to my house. The others were still outside watching my every move and I saw how they all stared at her. I looked at her again. She was pretty, long brown hair, same color as her eyes and rosy cheeks. "So what's your name?"

She hesitated for a moment and finally she said " I'm Liz"
