elizabeth woke up to the sound of faint knocking emerge from the front door of her bedroom, her hands raised in response to rub her sore and tired eyes from the threshold of the burning beamlights
when she got up from the bed, the cold wooden floor felt harsh against her feet that had laid peacefully in the warm and safe surronding of her covers, elizabeth could tell it was extremely early in the morning from the appearing sun rays seeping onto her vision
"im coming, im coming" she groaned as she slowly walked over to pull back the door knob
to elizabeths suprise, she wasn't greeted by a friendly hello or a good morning smile, instead a singular breakfast tray with a designed note stood solemnly on the ground in front of her feet
elizabeth bent down to examine the objects in closer detail, the warm inviting scent of the freshly made breakfast instantly reminded her of the time she told levi her favourite meal for the morning, cheese and bread with a glass of milk on the side
the heart shaped note stood out the most in between the piles of food, it was a peachy pink colour and had words scribbled on the front with a sophisticated handwriting, "dear elizabeth" it red out
her finger tips proceeded to open the card up, peering inside she was shocked to see the continuation of the fancy scribbles
happy valentines day, for this year, im asking you (elizabeth smith aka hippo) if you would like to be my partner.. my girlfriend?.... from levi"
her heart began to beat abruptly against her chest, sending lightning tingles up and down her body in response, elizabeth pressed up the card tightly onto her chest as her lips beamed in joy
her brain could barely comprehend the situation in front of her, her mind, stomach, legs and arms felt sprayed with a sort of potion that made her feel happy, excited, nervous and scared all at the same time
levi... her mind turned to levi. the boy who had appeared in her life like a torch in a gloomy tunnel, shining the way into glorious new adventures and to be made memories, oh how her heart suddenly longed to be wrapped around his thin cool arms, pressing her face tightly against him in an embrace that would never die
she loved him.. more than she seemed to love life itself
her hands dropped to the sides as his sullen dark eyes met with her's
levi had appeared from the end of the hallway, his hair rattled around in result of the cold water from the shower, a white towel hung loosely alongside his broad shoulders as his chin ever so slightly dropped in embarrassment at the sight of elizabeths hands clutching tightly around the proposing love letter
elizabeth couldnt help but grin at levis blushing red face
she felt choked as his eyes met with hers again, this time kinder and softer, as to ask the gut-wrenching question the both of them were awaiting for
will they be together?
a single tear rolled down elizabeths now damp cheeks as the card began to form lines of where elizabeths tight finger tips gripped at it
"yes" she said whilst shaking her head up and down "a million times yes" she said, this time coming out as a gleeful giggle
