He'd be a great dad (just saying)

There is a quiet knock at the bedroom door.
"Who is it?" Lex whispers.
"Professor Hidgens."
The door creaks open and the professor enters the room, sheepishly. He glances at Hannah's sleeping form as he sits, awkwardly on Lex's bed.
"They suspect you."
"Huh?"
"The others. They know some thing's up."
Lex sighs.
"Yeah, I'm showing a bit now. I should really say something."
Hidgens nods and goes to leave when she adds a comment.
"Just like how you should talk to Ted."
He turns on his heel.
"What... I don't like Ted."
Lex raises her eyebrow in response.
"OK so maybe I like him. But I don't know if he is straight."
"I don't know. He is definitely into girls but I don't know about guys."
Hidhens groans and puts his head in his hands. She places a supportive hand in his back.
"Who wouldn't want to be with you?"
Bashful, he blushes and exits, closing the door softly as he does.

Lex pads downstairs, the last to arrive to breakfast. She glances to the professor and bops her head slightly. He smiles encouragingly and turns back to Ted. Clearing her throat, she strides into the kitchen and stands, nervous.
"I know some of you may be wondering if I'm unwell."
Lex moves her gaze to the floor as she prepares herself.
"I'm... Pregnant."
Gasps fill the room. Hannah skips over to her big sister and gives her a supporting hug, inspiring Tom, Becky and Tim to join in. Paul glances to Emma and, since she goes to hug, as does he. Bill follows with Alice quietly tagging along. Ted, gaping, turns to Hidgens who is smiling.
"Wait, who do you think the dad is?"
"Her boyfriend died 4 months ago, she was already pregnant."
"Oh."
"I met Ethan once when I worked at their high school. He was a good guy. Very caring, especially for Lex. Attractive too."
"I wouldn't mind dating someone like that."
"Me neither."
They both turn to each other, realising what they admitted.
"Wait... Are you..."
"Are you?"
They both nod and a light blush fills their faces.
