Ch. 4 "Found"

                                                 Hayden POV 

I really should have taken swimming lessons or something, I thought as I tried to keep my head above the water, 

The rapids of the river were strong, pulling me back under the water, 

I would bring my head above the water just for a minute so I could get a breath of air, only to be drug right back under, 

I didn't think I was going to die like this, 

Then as I was pulled under water again my head smacked against something hard, and everything went black, 

                                                 Daryl POV 

I was tracking Hayden's tracks from where Sophia said they were when they split up, it looks like a herd of Walkers were after her, 

"That her?" Rick asked 

I nodded, 

"Looks like she lured em away so Sophie could escape," I said 

Rick nodded, 

"If there is a herd still out there we need to be prepared," Rick said 

"You do what you have to, I'm not leavin without her," I said 

I see a walker with an arrow between the eyes, I grabbed the arrow, then another and another, 

but after a while no more I just see foot prints, then we come to a cliffs edge where half a foot print is on the cliff and the other half isn't, 

"Damn it Hayden," I said 

"What?" Rick said 

"She jumped," I said running my fingers through my hair, 

"She what?" Rick said 

"Jumped," I said with raspy voice hoping she's still alive, 

"Come on we best get down there and find her," I said 

once we got down there the trail seemed to have run cold but I wasn't given up, 

"Come on Daryl it's getting dark," Rick said 

"I'm not leaving until I find her," I said 

"But-" He began 

"You do what you have to, I'm doin  what I have to," I said continuing to find her, 

Just as I was giving up hope I spot something, 

"What's that?" Rick said 

As we got closer I could see it was a body, 

Half was in the water the other half was on land, 

I see it's Hayden 

"Hayden!" I said rushing to her, 

I rolled her over and pulled her out of the water, she was covered in cuts and bruised some of the cuts were deep, 

I put my ear to her chest, 

"She ain't breathin," I said 

I started to do CPR, 

"Come one Hayden you ain't dyin on me!" I said 

I continued 

"Come on! yer stronger than this!" I said 

Then suddenly she coughed up water, her blue eyes flutter open, 

"Thank god," I said 

She looked confused, 

"Dad.." She said weakly and her eyes fluttered shut 

Me and Rick look at each other, 

I scoop her up in my arms, 

"Come on we need to get her to Hershel," Rick said 

I nodded 

We both picked up the pace heading back to the farm house as quickly as possible because we both knew she's was on a time clock with her injuries,
