she's wide awake

The city sleeps,

So the postage is slow,

I wrote my thoughts, my feelings and my insecurities,

The clock ticking on the wall is the worst tease.

I sit and wait and anxiously my fists seize.

The city sleeps

And she's wide awake,

2:14am, its already a new day.

Is she confused? Did she know all along?

did my smile that I tried hide with a smirk,

Only tell her I was a selfish jerk?

They called me out, asked questions of doubt

What they said was true, I just didn't want it out.
