"So, you didn't take out the fire that spreaded? Who do you think you are?"

She's busy, with her own work as usual. Today was supposed to be the brightest day in her life where she could get two more shifts. Yet, those expectations broke down when she heard so much reports.

Her e/c eyes glared right to the black eyes. "If the Hydros didn't come right on time, do you want to pay for their compensation?" The click of her tongue managed to make him shrunk a little. "B-but my salary一"

"That's why I asked you. Do you want to pay for their compensation? I was in your place when I first joined. My salary for the first month isn't much. So, do you want to?" She cut in before he could say another word. "It wasn't my fault that a fire spreade一"

"Then whose fault is this? Even if you didn't cause it, at least save the people inside." Her face was calm and expressionless. But her words held disappointment and poison, along with her eyes that didn't soften one bit. "Don't cause any more trouble than it is. If I see one more一"

"Why did you treat me like this amyway? You weren't even there!" The knight yelled on sudden, making her taken back. "Sir Kalios, do you know which one gains more power?" The h/c asked, not taking off her sight from the paper.

She put down the sheet and supported her chin with the back of the hand. "Appearance is important, yes. You'll gain a lot of eye power. But the way you act and your basic moral hold more power."

"Knights don't fool around, thinking they're the strongest and no one will dare to fight them. We work morning and night to keep them safe," she added with a small click of her toungue. "You may see yourself out."

The knight was silenced, but he nodded and walked out anyway. A harsh sigh escaped from her lips when suddenly, the nose picked up a scent.

"I heard you scolded a knight. Are you alright?"

The familiar deep voice sounded by the door. She didn't need to lift her head to see who was it. It was clear,

Kaeya.

"You should be asking that question to him, not me," Y/n replied and held the feather dip-pen to the black ink. "Or I can just send him to the execution." Her voice felt so cold, but she turned her gaze. Y/n stifled a small chuckle and shook her hand. "I was joking."

Kaeya swore for once, he felt weak on his knees. "Never knew the old Y/n could be this evil," he joked, whilst putting the rose by her desk. Y/n scoffed, she took another paper and started filling it down. "Just tell me what do you want."

"Dinner tonight?"

"No thanks."

"Shopping?"

"Moras will go on a waste."

"Sparring?"

"Do you want me to chop your head?"

Ah yes, she almost did with a trainee. The thought sent shivers down his spine as soon as he thought of it. He had run out reasons. It was impossible to talk to her.

"Reading?"

"Lisa is on her errands."

"Drink?"

"I don't want to hear you bragging about weird things."

'I believe it's you, who got drunk and started to talk weird things, Y/n.'

"If you have no reasons, get out of my office. Or, you can run my errand," she suggested. Y/n lifted the paper and started tidying them up. "Y/n, you should rest a little," Kaeya adviced. His lilac eyes wandered around the room and finally, landed on a painting of her own.
