Y/n sighed as she stretched her arms. One more paper and she'll be done. "Can I get another dandelion wine?"

"You could've gone to the tavern and order it yourself."

"There's Diluc."

Y/n sighed in exhaustion. She stretched her body and leaned on the couch. "For the love of Barbatos, it's two A.M. Please go home," she groaned in annoyance. She rubbed her e/c and yawned. She got to got back early after she was dismissed by Jean.

She was supposed to be asleep, not until a captain came to her house. The man didn't bother her and continued drinking. "Ahh, that was relieving!" he cheered once he tasted the taste of the bitter wine. "I'm going to Cape Oath for a few days or maybe weeks," he announced.

She was silent. 'That far?' That far he went out? What if he went out and didn't come back again like before? She didn't want him to leave just yet.

He put down the glass on the table. Y/n crossed her arm. "So, after all those months--"
"It's only a month."

"Right, so after a month, did I manage to make your heart flutter?"

She bit her lower lips. "Or you have found a reason to reject me?"

None of them continued. Only silence consuming the two of them. She crossed her arms. "It's because I'm not interested in you." Those words were hard to let out. "Well, why?" He asked, still with the smile on his face.

There was no hint of rushing in his voice. He was patient and calm in waiting. He was very genuine. "A--uh--," she stuttered. Her chest felt heavy. She sighed.

"I'm not just any other toy you can collect and throw. I'm not someone who you can play it--"

She stopped for a while. He was still smiling at her. He waited patiently for her to let out the words she had been wanting to say. She frowned. The looks he gave felt so unfair to her.

Those looks that looked like he'll open his arms for her. But, the longer she stopped, Kaeya was sure there were no reasons she could made up again. "Y/n," he called softly, almost like a whisper.

He stood up from the seat and walked to her side carefully. Her e/c followed the movement of his body as he sat down beside her. He could feel his heart raced faster and faster. He locked his eyes with the girl.

His lilac eyes wandered her feature. As if he was searching for something from her e/c orbs. Her lips opened. Her throat felt heavy and filled with lump. She swallowed.

"Then... why me? Why not.." Her voice cracked. It felt so heavy to think about everything and everyone in her life. "Why not Lisa? Or Noelle? Or Amber? Or maybe master Jean?" She questioned him.

Her heart ached in pain once she tried to remember those moments she spent. "I'm so confused. I-I don't get why but I always feel empath when I first saw you break down! I don't get why when I talk to you, my heart flutters and those butterflies start to fly? I don't get why when you touch me, look at me, hear your name, it felt like I wanted more."

He was taken a back by her obvious question. But he had never thought about seeing someone so serious, arrogant, and cold melted like this. The once arrogant Y/n, finally broke her mask in front of someone she had never expected to be.

She wasn't just acting strong, she was strong enough to cover her weakness. "And--and, when you came to my office, instead of thinking about my work, my mind wondered about your safety."

Her voice wavered. "I'm so confused!" She cried out. He pulled her small fame and wrapped his arms around her. His chin rested on top of the h/c. He caressed her silky and soft hair slowly. It felt so much affections and warmth.

"I think you know the answer yourself."

"I know! But I don't get why..."

She tried to push the man away. But her energy couldn't do that for her. She was tired and overwhelmed with her feelings. Kaeya released the hug slowly. His body felt cold, he missed the warmth from the girl.

He chuckled warmly. He moved his gaze to look at her. She calmed down a little bit. Kaeya moved his face forward towards the girl. He placed his lips on top of her head. "I can't kiss you on the lips, yet. I'll do it if you want me to," he spoke softly.

Her cheeks bloomed a shade of crimson red. Her heart fluttered. "Today is our first official day. On thirteenth January, is our first day. And of course, our first experience in falling for each other."

Wait--first?

Hadn't he ever fell for someone? Especially, from his charming look? She stood quiet at her seat. "Well, do you want me to stay or do you want to rest?" He asked the girl. "I wanna rest. Go home."

"Alright."

He stood up from his seat and walked outside. He left her on the couch. "Love you."

She walked to her shared house with her lover. After years, they had moved to a shared home. The h/c opened the door. She put down the bag and closed the door behind her. The first thing she wanted was cuddling with her beloved Kaeya.

"Kaeya!" she called out the man's name. "Yes? Oh, you're back!" he welcomed her with peck of kisses on her head and cheeks. The h/c stretched her arms wide open. "Cuddle."

Ever since they were together, she was much more straight-forward with what she wanted to do and have. Kaeya chuckled. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close. She didn't want to think about her work, right now.

All she wanted were break and rest.
