Part 13: The unknown entity

Start from the beginning

"A message...don't tell me it's the council of wise men again?"

Puck said in a tone that would usually scare most people but Reinhard's composure remained as he replied

"I ask for your forgiveness if the wise men did something to offend you but it is not them, the message came from a man who's named Natsuki Subaru...Do you know anyone of the sort miss Emilia?"

Emilia thought for a moment before replying

"No...I'm sure I would remember someone with a strange name like that...what did he look like?"

"His hair was black and his facial expression is quite intimidating...as for his clothing, they were quite unfamiliar to me so I'm not sure how to describe it..."

Using the newly found information, Emilia thought hard and long as to if he knows the person but...

"No good, I really can't remember anyone looking like that"

"I see....setting that aside for now he asked me to deliver you this message"

Reinhard then moved closer to Emilia and whispered something in her ear

After this, Emilia suddenly showed a serious expression and said

"Is that true?...."

"That's what he claimed, I didn't sense him lying so what he said must've been the truth, But I might be wrong. he was just a stranger that I saved from a mugging after all.

"Hoh?...that's quite heroic of you"

"I was just doing my duties as a knight. so are you planning on doing it? I am more than welcome to lend my aid to you miss Emilia"

"If what he said was true then I have no choice but to do it...I'm sorry for imposing on you Reinhard"

"Nothing of the sort, I'm glad to be of service, Miss Emila"

Reinhard then knelt at Emila as a sign of respect to her, After which the three of them walked together and was headed to a specific location

(-----------)

Filthy

That was the only word that the woman found that could perfectly describe the place she's walking through

The woman was wearing a black cloak that covered most of her body, her footsteps were trained and silent, avoiding the attention of the people nearby

Although the sight of poverty is not new for her, these part of the slums in the kingdom had to be the worse place out of all the locations that she's traveled on her long life

The place was filled with drunkards who slowly widdle their own lives by drinking and poisoning their already weak bodies, Prostitutes who are eying for men to earn money on, Beggars whose bones could already be seen through their skin, black waters that were riddled with trash and filth, houses that are so poorly made that even a little bit of gust could make the whole place collapse

and not to mention

"Corpses...."

The woman stopped walking and looked at the dead body in front of her path, it was a young little girl who looked around the age of eight to ten years old, her complexion told the woman that the little girl died a slow death due to hunger

The woman also caught a whiff of a familiar smell on the little girl, it was the smell of blood which meant that she was most likely beaten before being disposed of

"Haaa....poor thing"

Though the woman was used to the sight of death, she still couldn't help but feel a bit sympathetic for the girl,
