Part 13: The unknown entity

"Stay away from my sister you half-devil!"

A loud scream suddenly broke the peaceful atmosphere of the Marketplace, it drew the attention of the passerby's nearby which caused them to look in the direction of the voice

the one who let out the scream was a young kid who was holding a little girl who seemed younger than him, the boy was tightly hugging the girl with an expression of fear on his face as he scowls at the woman in front of him

The little girl looked at the boy who was hugging him and said

"B-Brother you've got it all wrong she didn't do anything bad, she-"

"It's okay Aya, she must've threatened you right? it's ok, your big brother will protect you"

The 'she' that the boy was pertaining to was the woman standing in front of him, she was tilting her head to the side while wearing a confused expression, the woman's face was clear and beautiful, her hair was silver and was fluttering with the breeze, her eyes shined purple and her outfit is white which emitted an air of royalty

The woman's name is Emilia

Emilia knew that the boy was under some sort of misunderstanding and so she tried to hastily correct the boy

"Y-You've got it all wrong, I just found the girl wandering around lost and so I helped her"

Emilia tried to pat the boy's head in order to calm him down but he immediately slapped her hand away

"Liar! don't touch us! you're probably the one who got her lost in the first place!"

"That's not....."

"Help! Somebody Help us! this half-devil is casting a curs-"

"Brother!"

The boy's sister shouted before slapping his face

"she didn't get me lost nor was she cursing us, I was lost and this lady helped me!"

"Are you serious? B-But she's-"

"Still, that doesn't change the fact that she helped me!"

the boy pondered for a moment and finally realized that he acted rashly

Emila felt relief, but soon realized that his realization came too late

"Look she's....."

"Ugh, a half-elf"

"Is she even allowed here? can someone call the guards?"

the people around Emilia began whispering upon themselves, throwing slurs and insults directed at her

"This is bad....you should get outta here quickly Lia"

A voice could suddenly be heard and appeared out of nowhere was a cat looking creature that floated in the air

"You've already accomplished your goal here so let's get going, hearing these humans badmouth you is starting to make me sick..."

"Right...."

Emilia said with a dejected tone, she prepared to get away from here as fast as possible but the little girl suddenly called out to her before she could escape

"U-Um, thank you so much for helping me miss, I-I'll promise to return the favor someday!"

Emilia smiled at the eagerness of the girl and replied

"Thank you, I'll take your word for it"

The eyes of the girl shined

"Yeah!"
