Chapter 14

I wake up to someone jumping on my bed "Peter" I groan opening my eyes and throwing him onto the floor using my powers "ouch" he says and I look down at him "what is the meaning of this?" I ask "it's already 12 let's get lunch" Peter says innocently and I take a deep breath "alright alright, let me get ready" I say getting up and grab some clothes before heading into the bathroom

I change into some ripped mom jeans and a tube top before brushing my teeth and walking out "finally" Peter says and I roll my eyes "don't you have school or something?" I ask "it's Sunday" Peter says and I look at him surprised "really?" I ask and he nods "I really don't pay attention" I say as we walk to the dinning room together

"You know you're short for someone older than me" Peter says resting his arm around my shoulders "you've gotten real confident around me haven't you Peter" I say looking up at him, he looks down and is about to take his arm away "and that's okay" I say grabbing his hand and his smiles "it's good to have another friend, people don't really like me in school" Peter says

"You know, my dad put me out there as the newest avenger. I could come pick you up tomorrow in one of my dads sports car" I say with a smirk "really?" Peter asks excited and I nod, I look forward to see Steve and Sharon talking by the front door. She looks behind him towards me and smirks before pulling him into a kiss, I instantly look down

"You like him don't you?" Peter whispers "no" I say instantly pulling him into the dinning room "are you lying?" He asks and I shake my head "it's more complicated than that" I say with shrug as we sit down, he moves his arm "where's Bucky?" I ask "he's training today, I think his nightmares are back" Peter says "nightmares?" I ask and he nods "you've never heard them?" He asks "maybe I have because his room is closer to mine but pay attention, you'll hear them" Peter says and I nod

"What are you doing today Peter?" I ask as I hear Steve walk in "I actually have homework" he says with a straight smile "well you do that kid" I say smiling "you're not that much older than me" Peter says "oh but I am" I say with a smirk as we begin to eat "hey" Steve speaks up "where's the girlfriend" I ask looking at him "she had to leave, Something came up at work" Steve says "I didn't ask why"  I reply "you're mad at me? We were fine last night" Steve says

"I'm not mad" I reply finishing my food "I'm going to go do my homework, I will see you" Peter says and I nod "okay" I say as he leaves with a smile. Steve and I sit around until we are left alone in the room "you are mad" Steve says and I roll my eyes "you weren't mad two nights ago" Steve whispers "Steve, we're not going to do that anymore. Not until you end things with her" I say getting up and leaving

I walk into my room and Steve does too instantly, with my back against the door Steve leans in with his hands rested on either side of my head towering over me "what's going on?" Steve asks "Steve you're not a cheater, you're this sweet guy and too innocent for your own good. Before me you've basically only been with one girl" I say "you're not a cheater, you're not like Theo" I say pressing my hands against Steve's chest and pushing him away gently

"If you want us to go back to fooling around, then break up with her. I am not Sharon and I'm not entering a relationship I don't belong in" I say and Steve kisses me "I'll break up with her" Steve says "you're sure it's what you want? Steve we will most likely never even be out for everyone to see. We're not even a relationship" I say and Steve crosses him arms over his chest looking down at me slightly hurt

"I am sure that I don't feel the same when I'm with her as I do with you. I know we're not in a relationship or maybe may not ever be in one with you, but being with you makes me feel alive. More than I have ever been since I woke up from the ice, so I am sure I would rather do this with you than with her. You're right I am not that guy but I can't help it if just seeing you is driving me crazy" Steve says and I look into his eyes

Not being to control my own actions I kiss him which he instantly returns, pulling me closer by the waist before laying me onto the bed. I know what I said and I meant it, but I have never had anyone talk to me like I meant this much to them

A couple of hours later we are just lying in bed "you need to talk to her" I say tracing figures onto his bare chest "I know and I will first thing tomorrow"  Steve says placing a kiss on my head "I think you need to go before it's too late" I say looking up at him, he nods. I get up and decide to walk him to his room "I'll see you tomorrow" he says pulling me into a soft kiss "okay" I say as he walks into his room

I begin to walk back to my room when I hear some screams and groaning coming from Bucky's room "Bucky?" I ask knocking softly but I get no reply, I open the door and watch him tossing and turning in his sleep sweat dripping down his forehead. I walk in closing the door behind me "Bucky?" I ask as he continues to toss and turn, I sit on his bed brushing his hair out of his face "no" he cries softly

I brush his hair back once again causing him to shoot up and grab me by the neck with his metal hand "Bucky it's me" I croak out slapping his hand, his eyes widen and he lets go "I-I'm sorry, what are you doing here?" He asks surprised "I heard your nightmares, I got worried" I say and he begins to calm down "I can stay here tonight if it would help you sleep" I say and he shakes his head

"You're my friend Bucky, you would do the same for me" I say and he sighs. I lean against the headboard and put his pillow on my lap "lay down" I say tapping my lap "I'm not used to um having a friend like this" Bucky says hesitating to lay "that's because you have never had a female friend, now you do" I say tapping my lap again, he hesitates again but finally lays down

"It's okay to let someone else take care of you, I know you've been through a lot with Hydra as have I. They experimented and tortured me too as a child" I say while running my fingers through his hair "so I get it, let me be here for you" I whisper and he nods slowly seconds before a hear a soft snore coming from him, I smile and rest my head back before closing my eyes
