you nodded against his chest, gripping onto the blazer of his uniform. that what you would have to do.

"do it properly, y/n! what the fuck." kasumi's shrill voice broke through you and mitsuko's casual conversation.

you were setting the gym for the dance, which was only in a few days now. it was a different gym than the one kuroo practiced in, so you wouldn't disturb the team. despite kuroo's complaints, you were still bringing bokuto to the dance. you couldn't uninvite him, and besides, you wanted him to be there; he was fun to be around. kuroo and him were good friends anyways, so no matter how annoyed kuroo seemed about it, you knew he actually wouldn't mind. ayako had informed you that she was bringing tanaka, which made you endlessly happy.

"i'm not doing anything wrong, kasumi." you spoke calmly, not in the mood to argue with her about something stupid. you were setting up fairy lights, and it was tiring work. your arms ached from holding them up, and you weren't really in the mood to deal with kasumi's shit.

"the lights are crooked. are you blind?" kasumi crossed her arms in front of her chest, looking at you with an irritated glare.

you looked back at your work. the lights were in fact not crooked, which meant that kasumi was trying to pick a fight. you didn't understand why it was always you who had to deal with her. you resisted the urge to roll your eyes and just gave her a fake smile.

"thank you, kasumi. i'll fix it." your voice dripped with fake politeness.

kasumi seemed satisfied enough, and walked away with a shrug.

"you're so mature," mitsuko whispered to you as kasumi got farther away. "i would've thrown hands."

"that's what she wants," you replied, running your fingers along the string of fairy lights on the wall. "so she can play the victim."

"true." mitsuko nodded.

"besides, i have the thing she wants most." you hadn't really had the chance to brag about kuroo yet, so you were going to take it now. you trusted mitsuko, and you thought she was a good person to start in terms of telling people about your relationship with kuroo.

"what's that?" mitsuko asked, intrigued.

"kuroo."

"bitch, what?"

you bit your lip to keep from smiling too big. "kuroo likes me. not fucking kasumi. and i like him too."

mitsuko's jaw literally dropped, causing you to grin. "kuroo likes you? he told you?"

"mhm." you nodded proudly.

"bitch, i never heard kuroo say he liked someone before. apparently he had sex, but he never mentioned feelings." mitsuko's eyes were wide.

you looked down at the floor, suddenly feeling a little flustered. "well, he told me."

"girl, do you have any idea who you just pulled?!" mistook hit your arm playfully, her lips spread into a large smile.

"kuroo mf tetsuro, bitch!" you answered, clapped your hands at every word for effect. "but let's lower our voices before kasumi kicks my ass."

"so, is he your boyfriend?" mitsuko asked, quieter this time.

your breath hitched a little. "well, no..." you pursed your lips. "he hasn't asked me to officially date him yet."

"oh, okay." mitsuko smiled. "but imagine the look on kasumi's face when she finds ou-"
