One by one, they fell through the portal and back into the normal world. This portal gently spit them out onto their feet and onto the ground outside. Immediately, the ocean was no longer in sight, nor could Sean smell the salty air. His breathing became much better again, and his energy soared as he breathed in the normal air again

They had landed onto a worn cobblestone path, surrounded by thin trees and scraggly bushes. It was about midday, the sun was touching down on the ground, very warm but not uncomfortable.

The thin trees had bark that looked very flimsy, even peeling off in some parts, revealing an oddly colored inner part, like a pinkish-green color. Amber droplets of sap were stuck on the parts that were peeling. The leaves of these trees were closed tightly in a bud shape, but were about the size of Sean's hands.

There were hundreds, if not, thousands of these trees, spread out over a large area. The ground beneath the trees was a bit dry, looking a bit more like sand than dirt. Scraggly bushes dotted the floor as well, each little stick on the bushes looked like dried twigs.

The effect happened to the others as well. They all went from yawning and practically falling asleep to being awake enough to keep walking.

"We need to find a place to rest," Sean said "But first,we need to start preparing to find the Key."

"No." Camille interrupted

Sean looked in her direction.

"I know where the key is, It's in The Giant's Tomb." She said "

"But to get there, we're going to need to walk." She continued, raising her voice up slightly so everybody could hear

Sean approached her and put one hand on her shoulder.

"I understand that we need to walk, but we need to prepare to fight Qadir if he gets there before us. Because If he gets there, or shows up while we're here, we'll have to fight him." Sean told her.

"If we can stop him here, we can stop him from unleashing another demon war

"How do you know he's going to start a demon war?" Camille asked, skeptical

"It's something he would do." Sean answered

"And besides, If we deal with him now, we won't have to deal with Oqirax." He continued

As he said that, he remembered when he, Nyox, and Swee had first met the bearded wizard.

The stone exploding. His sword getting shattered. Nyox getting knocked out. Swee getting blown against the wall.

Even though it was years ago, they would still likely struggle against him.

Sean remembered the weird skull ritual and the dagger.

It was then that he realized that they had never gone after Oqirax to retrieve his old friend's dagger.

"Oqirax is a mage, beat us up pretty badly." Nyox said.

Sean began remembering some of the things that had happened that long ago.

Him learning his fire breath spell. The Ice realm.

He remembered something Hay had said.

"No matter how hard you try, I will always be a step ahead of you."

Sean knew how that had turned out.

He shook his head to draw himself out of the memories.

"Alright then. We'll rest, but after we walk a bit." Sean said
