Taehyung worked as a model, but he did a lot of freelance photography on the side too. He collected a variety of different cameras, both modern and old-fashioned. Some didn't even work and were just for display. A clicking noise alerted me of his camera shutter going off; I quickly turned around to lock eyes with him.
"Taehyung... we're supposed to be unpacking, not playing." I smiled, shaking my head at him.
But I watched as he fiddled with the camera and pointed it at me again; I flashed him a goofy smile while still carrying a box of my office supplies. "You look... pretty, Angel." Taehyung breathed. He let the camera fall to hang around his neck before he rushed beside me to plant a brief kiss on my cheek.
"That's cus I'm doing all the hard work." I scoffed.

We sat on the sofa when the food finally arrived; I brushed up against his shoulder while Tannie trotted circles around the couch, searching for any food. "Can I come to set tomorrow with you? I promise I won't get in the way?" Taehyung pleaded as he tugged on my arm.
My job was as a script editor, the goal was eventually to be able to write my own scripts, but I worked as just an editor for the time being. It wasn't an awful job, but my treatment often varied on the actors I worked with. I mainly worked on television scripts, but I did the occasional film script. My job was to relay any edits to the directors or producers who needed to liaise with the leading writers and the actors who also dictated their lines.
"I start on a new film set on Tuesday. The last shoot for the TV show is Friday till 11. You can still meet me for lunch on set?" I replied with a gentle smile.
After the food, I switched the light off and pulled the blanket, clicking on a film for us both to watch. I'd clearly sat too far away as Taehyung made quick work as he shifted his body diagonally, cuddling up close and his head resting on my shoulder. Taehyung was definitely the bigger cuddle advocate in our relationship, but he knew how to simultaneously switch and command my attention. He was undoubtedly bubbly but had a tendency to act withdrawn when in the presence of strangers he didn't trust.
As children, Taehyung had been that outgoing child who longed for a big group of friends. But unfortunately, his naive trust in people often hurt him as many people took advantage of his good nature. As he grew up, he became wiser but more guarded of that precious heart that I treasured. Me, on the other hand, stuck to Taehyung's side. A hardworking student who knuckled down to achieve goals. Friendship wasn't a luxury or something I'd taken for granted. In my eyes, Taehyung and my cousin Jimin were all I'd ever sought out.
The three of us had been inseparable as children, but this question remained, would anyone not obligated to my soul or my blood truly like me for who I was?
Soft, gentle breathing sounds pulled me from my thoughts. Taehyung had slumped against my shoulder. Even Tannie was fast asleep in his bed beside the sofa. Despite how tired I was, I knew falling asleep like this would leave us both with bad backs in the morning. My fingertips soothed through Taehyung's hair, carefully pushing his head from my shoulders.
A slight mumble left his lips, "Angel? What time is it?" Taehyung slurred as he rubbed the sleep wearily from his eyes.
"Let's go to bed. It's late. Want me to make us a drink before bed?" I asked. He nodded, and I quickly switched the kettle on while watching him waddle the blanket and himself to the room.
Once finished, I waltzed into the bedroom; the once bland-looking toppings were now cream laced with rainbow sprinkles and tiny blush-pink marshmallows. Our drinks screamed ten years old, not exactly 24 & 25 years old, but neither of us was a fan of coffee. It was far too bitter for both of our liking.
