Back at school

'Luke drives me to school.'

I had been awake all night, a million thoughts running through my mind.

Luke was going off to college and had told me that he was going to a junior college so he would still be home a lot, but I was still afraid he would meet better, prettier girls. I knew he would, I just wasn't ready

I had gotten up and thrown on my outfit for my first day of school, it was nothing fancy. Luke had just texted me saying

' I don't have class until 1pm so I can drive you to school'

I smiled lightly until I realized he would just be dropping me off, I was going to be alone at school.

I walked outside to my driveway just like I used to.

Luke drives up, parks and then hops out.

"Hey Lu, you look sad babe, what's up?" Luke asks sadly.

I just shrug and say "I don't want to go to school, can I just go to college with you?" Causing Luke to laugh at my Childness.

"As much as I want you to, you have to graduate highschool first." I cringe at his response before sighing.

"Fine well let's get this over with." I say as I begin to walk to the door until I'm stopped by Luke grabbing my waist.

"Don't I get a kiss first?" He asks cutely and I couldn't resist as I leaned up and kissed his soft lips. Our lips moved in sync as we made out a bit before I pulled apart.

"I need to get to school come on love." I say as I hop in his car and he does the same.

We were now in front of the school and sitting in his car. I gulped. "You can do this babe, do you want me to walk you up there?" He asks kindly.

I laugh before saying "No, I'll be fine. I love you bye." I say getting out but am pulled back in and immediately am put in a lip lock with Luke.

When I pulled away I saw a smiling Luke and some cringing freshmen through the window.

I laughed before hopping out and walking into school shyly.

I saw some old friends as I walked in, but none made eye contact.

I kept my head down, walking to the auditorium to get my schedule.

1. Calculus
2. Aerobic dance
3. English 3
4. Cosmetology
5. History
6. Physics
7. Free period

I glanced over it and when my eyes landed on history I thought about how I had it with Luke.

I sigh quietly walking to my first class. I tripped going up the stairs, dropped my phone, ran into a door and tripped over my chair when I finally made it to my class.

To say I was embarrassed would be an understatement. I shyly took my seat and waited patiently for this day to be over.

The day was finally over and there was no one to pick me up. I sighed, a tear making its way down my face.

Today was full of anxiety and stress. I was done and now I had to walk home. I mean I guess I needed the exercise, I had gained so much weight and was now 160 lbs.

I was mentally unstable at the moment and wanted nothing more than to go jump off a cliff, worst of all there was no Luke.

After an hour of walking I made it to the playground.

I checked my phone and saw no new messages. I just broke down and cried. I was on one of the towers of the playground my legs laid out and I just cried.

The tears covering me, my nose clogged and I had a headache. I leaned my head on the bar behind me and slowly drifted off, tears still streaming down my face.

I was awoken by someone moving me, I was about to scream till I saw Luke putting me in his lap.

"Stop, I've gained so much weight. Put me down." I said sternly but groggily.

"No Lu. Shh." He whispered using his hand to gently put my head to his chest,

"Are you okay?" He asked, I just looked up at him with glossy eyes.

"Why did I even ask that, of course you're not okay. What happened?" He continued.

"Everything happened. L-Luke, you should break up with me." I whispered the last part.

He quickly embraced me tighter before kissing my lips so sweetly I could almost taste sugar.

"Never." He mumbles against my lips. I slowly pull away from the intimate gesture and put my big hands on his chest.

I closed my eyes, sighing "Luke, I want the best for you. You deserve better than me." I replied softly.

He just shook his head as we sat there, wrapped in each other's arms.

"You are the best, maybe even better, for me." He whispered, kissing my temple.

I rested quietly, not knowing what to say.

"So w-what happened at school today, college boy?" I asked shakily.

He smiled and I worried he was thinking about a girl "Well my lovely Lu. I met these three boys and their amazing! They love the same music as me and their all really talented. They even suggested we all make a band!"

   He sounded so excited I couldn't help the smile that crossed my face "A band?" I questioned and Luke nodded excitedly.

   He was so cute. "That's great Luke!" He smiled, kissing me. "I love you." He whispered. All I could do is nod.
