Chapter 18 - Double Date

"So it was your idea. Well, Y/N, I feel happy that you think you need to consult me to go out with Shino. You flatter me." This guy isn't so bad.

"So have you two went on a date yet?" Kyouji says bluntly, changing the subject.

"Funny you say that. We're going on one tomorrow."

"I'm surprised you actually had the guts to tell me that."

"Well, you can't really do any damage with that information."

"Fair point. Well, good luck. Hope you have fun."

"And what about you, Shinkawa?" Shino starts. "Do you know when you're being released?"

"The nurse said that I was progressing smoothly. No outbursts of rage, no cursing at everyone that walked past, no screaming your name in the middle of the night." The last one made you walk a bit closer to Shino. "They said that I would be released soon. As for the date: I wasn't told."

"That's fine. As long as you're doing well." Shino said.

"Almost there, Admi. You'll be with me soon enough."

You and Shino left the mental institute a few hours later. 

"You and Shinkawa really hit it off back there. I'm honestly surprised. With what happened half a year ago, I thought he would be a lot more... angry I guess."

"To be honest, I was also surprised it went that well. I'm not complaining though." You take a look at the time on your phone.

"It's starting to get late. We should head home now if we're going on the double date tomorrow."

"You're right." Shino takes out her own phone. "I'll see you tomorrow then?"

"I'll see you tomorrow." You confirm. You go to leave but are stopped by Shino grabbing your arm. You turn and are greeted by a small peck on the cheek. Shino waves and walks the opposite way. You grab your cheek with a giddy smile.

"See you guys!" You wave to your parents. It was the next day and you had returned to your parents' house to borrow your father's suit once more. Needless to say, they were both overjoyed that you and Shino were finally together. They saw the ring that Shino gave you and that only fueled that their happiness.

You take out your phone and open your contacts.

You: You ready?

Akira: omw

Akira: i'll be at the restaurant in a few

You: Good

You: See you there

You leave your chat with Akira and check up on Shino.

You: Do you have Kureha with you?

Shino❤: Yeah

Shino❤: I convinced her to keep one of the dresses on.

Shino❤: What about Akira?

You: He'll be there soon

You: I'll be there in 10

Shino❤: See you there

I slip my phone back into my pocket and quicken my pace towards Yakiniku Kyoshotei. The place 'Silica' was waiting.

I reach the entrance and see Akira standing in a suit. Good. He looks decent.
