“What… was… that?” They’re the only words I manage to gasp while the fear drowns me in tidal waves so realistic. They hit me again and again causing me to gasp. Jisung shakily drops beside me and holds out his hands, “NO! Don’t touch me!” I wail desperately, feeling choked.
Chan rushes in, probably due to the noise and the fear subsides immensely, leaving you lying on the floor, “Jisung what’s going on? What did I tell you about touching strangers! I didn’t think-”
“No! Chan hyung it’s not what it looks like!”
“Then what-”
“Jisung…” my voice is quiet and shaky. Both of them turn to look at me. “You saw it too right?” He nods slowly, “and all the other times too?” Again he nods and I sit up to look at Jisung. “What was that?”
“What’s what? I’m so confused, please explain,” Chan says flicking looks at Jisung, you and back to Jisung again.
Jisungs sighs, “Chan hyung… you know when I asked you about that person and feeling electricity… well that person was y/n.” Chan’s mouth drops, looking at me this time. “And on the way home we met again and now we’ve met here too… it’s like… like we’re pulled together… and that’s not all… whenever we touch we… we have this vision… Of a cliff…”
“And the sea,” I add in, looking to Jisung who nods. I know our visions are exactly the same. I just know.
“And afterwards… we just get filled with fear.”
“It gets worse each time,” I admit. “I don’t understand what’s happening.”
Chan shakes his head and helps both of us up individually, “come on you two. We need to sort this out.” He takes us to the staff room, makes us a mug of coffee and sits us down. Jisung looks at me the entire time, his big eyes filled with worry. Every time I look at him. I’m more sure I know him.
The way he looks at me. It makes me feel so warm and full and complete. It’s indescribable.
“Do you know what it is Chan?” I ask as he leans against the table with a sigh, crossing his arms.
“Yesterday you said we could be… soulmates…” Jisung interjects and I freeze. Soulmates? Is that what we are?
Chan sighs sharply, “I don’t know… I’ve heard stories but I’ve never heard of something like this…”
Me and Jisung share a look and I feel my stomach seize up. This boy… this boy does something to me, even with a look.
“But this vision… it’s got to mean something,” he sighs, walking to the closed door and fishing his phone from his coat pocket. “What does the view look like?”
We smile at each other and my stomach churns but my heart fizzes, we describe the sea, how it extends all the way to the horizon. The surface is smooth, almost unmoving and how there are no constructions on the cliff either. It’s just fields and rocks for miles either side.
Chan searches for a minute, showing you pictures only for us to discredit every single one. Yet it takes me by surprise when the next picture he shows me is the exact replica of the one in our vision.
We stare at each, nodding. "That's it," I whisper.
"That's it?" Chan repeats surprised while me and Jisung nod. "That's definitely it?"
"Definitely! It's exactly the same," Jisung says, "where is it?"
"Here in Australia. Like a 30 minute bus journey?" Chan muses scrolling through the photos, leaving a lingering silence in the room before he finally says, "I think you both should go."
"Now? But what about the store Chan hyung?"
"I can handle it myself, I've done it many times when you've been late before. Maybe you will be able to figure what it is if you go. Get some answers?" He says looking between me and Jisung.
I don’t even need to say a word to Jisung. I already know his answer. We need to do this. Discover what it is. Maybe we can find a clear answer for once and for all.
