"Oh," she said sadly. "I didn't know. I'm sorry that happened to you. You're too good of a person to go through that. If you need my help, just let me know."

I nodded and smiled. "Actually... talk to Allison for me. Don't say anything about me. Just become her close friend. She's been acting a bit odd the past few days and the timing is a bit funky to me."

Rose nodded and smiled, finishing her apple. "Will do. Hey. You need to eat some. You look pasty." I nodded and smiled. That's not going to happen.

After lunch, I headed back to my station and continued to work as usual. Time flew by, unfortunately, and I had left to pick up the kids and head home to get ready. It was a typical routine. Talk about school, head home and snack.

I had gone to the bathroom to get my make up done and hair up as I came out and checked on the kids. They were done as Jack was getting them cleaned up and ready. Leaving for the bedroom, I slipped on a mini skirt and matching sparkling top as I put on my pumps and walked out. Everyone was ready and waiting for me. Sometimes I wished that I didn't take so long to get ready.

"Alright. Let's go," I said looking to Jack. We all had left the house and locked the door and piled in the van. Off to Matt's house. If I had ate anything today, I would have felt like puking it up right now. Thankfully I didn't have to because I didn't eat.

After about an hour of driving, the kids were getting restless but we finally made it out and walked up to the door. There was already quite a few people here as Matt opened the door. "You guys didn't have to knock. Just walk in."

"It's only polite," I said quietly. We had walked in to see everyone talking with everyone and looking around. "Where can the kids go? I don't want them to get caught up in the crowd."

"Up the stairs and the last room on the right. My sister is up there right now and there's going to be a few people switching for babysitters. Just relax and just welcome everyone back to be back together again."

We nodded as I brought the kids upstairs and Jack left to talk to Matt.

"Okay, guys. Be good, okay? Share and be polite. I will come back to check on you soon, okay?" The nodded and ran off, playing with a few kids. The ages varied from three to twelve.

Walking back down, I took a once over to see Sarah and Allison talking and laughing together. I took note and tried my best to avoid them. I didn't know anyone here, so I found Jack again and stuck by his side.

Everyone was talking while there was music playing and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

About an hour later, there was a loud whistle and everyone quieted down. Matt spoke up so everyone could hear him.

"I just want to thank everyone for being here today, with my lovely wife, Sarah and getting clean. It was a tough road, but I had so much support, along with her. I don't know what we would do without you guys." Everyone cheered and toasted with their cups of pop, wine and whiskey. I just mumbled under my breath and shook my head. I had an awful feeling in my gut, and I wasn't too thrilled about that.

After a few hours of music, chatting and fun, I told Jack that I was ready to leave. He nodded as he went upstairs to get the kids. I sat back in the kitchen waiting for his return as I saw her approaching. I was panicking, hoping Jack would come down soon, but he didn't.

"Emily." Sarah said in a snarky tone.

"Hi, Sarah. I'm glad that you finished your rehab. It's nice to see you healthy," I said with a smile.

"Yeah, it's good. I've changed a lot. For the better, of course. I just wanted to apologize for how I had acted before. Can we call it truce?" She held out her hand and I was scared to reach for it.
