I woke up and rolled over next to nothing. Mumbling, I looked around and Jack was nowhere to be seen. Did I oversleep? Hurrying up to the living room, I saw Jack and Jessica cuddled up next to each other on the couch. I smiled softly, kissing the top of their heads and headed off to the kitchen. It was just about time for them to wake up, so I started to make some breakfast for the sleepy heads. It was kind of a Barakat tradition to make Sunday breakfast. Something that's not as get up and go.
As soon as the bacon was done, Jack had woke up and groggily made his way over to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my head softly. "Morning, baby," he said.
"Morning," I replied with a smile. "What's up with that living room arrangement?"
"Jess had a nightmare. I was up for a midnight bathroom break and heard her start to cry, so I just brought her out here." I nodded and placed the rest of the bacon on a plate and covered it. "Smells good," he said as I cracked eggs into the pan and seasoned them.
"I hope so. I was going to make french toast, but I didn't feel like dirtying up all those pans. Never got to ask, but when are you going to announce the tour?"
"It'll be released a week before the show. Matt will hang up flyer's and stuff. It's all going to start to be planned today. The design and what songs we are doing. Alex has been writing some new stuff, so we have to practice."
"Are you excited?" I asked, flipping the eggs over.
"I am, actually. I love being home, but I miss seeing the kids. You know?" I nodded, placing the eggs on a plate as Xavier and Jessica made their way to the kitchen.
They were always quiet in the mornings. It was actually kind of cute. The bed head and still sleepy eyes. "Good morning, guys," I said. They just nodded as they sat down at the table. Jack followed.
"How did you guys sleep?" He asked.
"Good," said Xavier. His eyes started to wake up and his mind started to work. "We going to see Auntie Cass and Auntie Tay?"
"In a few hours, yes. Are you excited?" I asked, placing bacon on the plate and handing it to Jessica and Xavier.
"Mmhmm. I miss Cody," said Jessica. I smiled softly and tousled their hair. Quickly heading over, I placed some toast in the toaster and made Jack's plate, handing it to him. I gave myself a glass of water and some milk for everyone else. "It's really good, mommy."
"Thank you," I said, taking a sip. I was going through my day in my head as I sighed. Really didn't feel like getting out, but sometimes it's not about you. Put on a smile and push through.
After breakfast, I got the kids clothes out and they got dressed while Jack did the dishes. I had brought out a board game to play with the kids while we waited until we had to leave for Cassadee's house. I was kind of excited to see the girls and how they were doing.
After dishes, Jack took my place so I could get dressed for the day. I had slipped on some jeans and a vintage t-shirt. Nothing fancy, but something that made me look acceptable. I had headed to the bathroom to brush and curl my hair.
About a half hour later, I came back out and joined the game with everyone. I honestly don't know what I would do if I didn't have my kids and Jack. They are everything to me. Honestly, they are all I know.
After a few hours, noon rolled around and I had to tell the kids to clean up a bit. Jack had left to get ready as I packed a few things, just in case something happened like a spill, and a box of graham crackers for a snack.
Jack had came out and kissed me quickly as he smiled. "I will see you tonight?" He asked, halfway out of the door.
"Yeah. Love you," I said as I grabbed the bag and checked on the kids.
