August 9th had been Willow Wilkinson, Douglas' baby sister's, 19th birthday. She had used the last year as a gap year and was now heading off to college in Kent to look into majoring in some sort of nature conservation route. This would be happening in a week's time, so the party had ended up being rather emotional for everyone invited, and Penny, Anna-Lucy, Clyde, and Robert whom were quite close with Willow had spent the better part of the night weeping at having said goodbye for what felt like forever in child-terms.
The next day, August 10th, had been Anna-Lucy's birthday, and the Wilkinsons spent most of the day trying to cheer the little four year old up by talking about anything but her favourite aunt. They let her drag her baby blanket all through the house, despite Cynthia's skin practically crawling anytime she thought about all the nasty things that poor blanket had been through in a house of nine kids (really ten if she counted Douglas, as she should) and three pets. Anna-Lucy ended off the day giggling though as her and Robert built blocks in his room and Penny played her favourite record by the Jackson Five.
August 11th was Ginny's birthday and the Weasleys were very busy celebrating it. Ginny was quite excited to be one year closer to attending Hogwarts, of which she was very much looking forward to, especially with all the cool stories Bill told her each night. She spent most of the day with Percy who practically spoon-fed her anything she wanted and let her play with any toys she could get her hands on until Ron would walk in and through a fit that she wasn't allowed to touch his muggle action-figures (little figurines depicting muggles holding suitcases or filing taxes, all the most enjoyable muggle activities that wizards find oh-so intriguing.)
On August 12th, Douglas woke up bright and early to begin work on a large cake for the day's later activities that would be hosted at the Weasley's house. As of today, it was officially one year since they had all first met up and commenced their introductions around the Weasley's two large outdoor tables. A memory that all of them appreciated very much, although some would likely deny this fact if asked to elaborate.
Cynthia and Arthur spent most of the day off at work as it was a Tuesday, but once they all got out at six, they each returned home and helped to prepare their kids for the party ahead of them.
By six forty-five, the eight Wilkinsons and the three Embleton cousins were packed appropriately into their seats. Eleanor, Klaus, and Penny were the only ones old enough or tall enough to not have to seat themselves on the ever-so-firm booster seats that Douglas had purchased throughout the years. Cynthia sat herself in the passenger seat with the rough-looking cake in her hands, protected from any potholes in the dirt road by a bit of magic on her own part.
