Chapter 4

-"You keep away from her!"

-"I knew that would get a reaction out of you. To be honest, I doubt I could beat her, even with a group of high-tiers, but it was fun messing with you. Although, I do only get a certain amount of satisfaction from doing this grunt work myself." I think to myself.

First Claire... Now Arlo? What did I do wrong this time around? I know I did terrible things in New Boston, but I've changed, I have. All I wanted was peace away from my past. I thought if I could run fast enough, it wouldn't catch up. It seems I can't do that, but I had hoped that things would be different this time around. Everything is just repeating. Why? Why can't these people leave me alone? Why won't Arlo leave me alone? A flashback ensues.

-"Monster."

Am I a monster? Will I always be a monster?

No.

I'm not the monster, not right now. They are. The high-tiers, the royals, and him. They caused the conflict, they caused the problems. They are the monsters. And monsters... deserve to be put down, by any means necessary.

-"Well, anything to say, smartass? Guess not. Start us off, you two." Ventus and Meili rush at me, abilities active, ready to beat me into a pulp. I close my eyes. This is it. I won't stand for this anymore.

-"ARLO!!"

I open my eyes, glowing, having already copied the abilities of Ventus and Meili, with Arlo's ability stored, but on standby. This time will be different. I won't break. I am in control, I can be in control. I will beat them. I will end the hierarchy, and I will end the suffering. This... is the beginning of Wellston's reform.

Sera POV

I look at the school gates. It's been a while. Well, no time to waste. I activate my ability, and begin searching around the school premises.

Vaughn POV

I hear a knock on my door.

-"Come in!" Keene enters, visibly distraught.

-"Headmaster, I apologize for the intrusion, but someone has just entered the school premises, and it appears to be Seraphina. Her ability is a little difficult to track, due to it being Time Manipulation, but her movements seem to be fast and erratic, almost as if she's looking for something." I hide my surprise at her being here before her suspension is up.

-"Not something, someone. Her movements are around the area, not in the school, or even in the dorms. Further, she had no reason to come here unless it was important. The only thing that's been important to her recently is her friends. Which of her friends, I don't know."

-"Headmaster, should I go and get her?"

-"Not yet." He looks confused.

-"Sir?"

-"This must be important, so it'd be best if we question her afterwards. I want to see how this plays out."

-"Understood."

Sera POV

There's Remi! She's the most trustworthy out of everyone! Perfect. She even walking alone back to her dorm. Usually Blyke is with her, though, he must have gone out for a run.

I stop right in front of her and deactivate my ability. She literally jumps back in surprise.

-"Seraphina?! I thought you were susp—."
