-"M-miss Seraphina?" She cries out, unable to do anything. Sera leaves her behind and heads towards her mother's office. Once she gets there, she doesn't immediately go in. 'I can do this.' She takes a deep breath, gathers her courage, and opens the door. She looks at Sera almost apathetically.

-"Seraphina."

-"Mother." Sera answers, trying to match her mother's confident demeanor. Her mother looks up at her again, her brows scrunching up.

-"I thought I told you to get rid of those ridiculous extensions. And fix your jacket! You should be in your room, working."

-"This is what I want to talk about. I both dislike and disagree with how I'm treated. I want to do things on my own accord, dress how I want to, and talk to who I want to talk." She seemed surprised at Sera's sudden courage to resist her will, but it was quickly overshadowed by annoyance.

-"Don't be so selfish. You were given gifts at birth, and it is your duty to keep to your responsibilities. Don't become a failure like your sister did." Her mother says. Sera takes another deep breath.

-"You know, I believe I finally understand why Leilah ran away from here. This place is cold, lifeless, controlling. It's less a home and more a prison camp, as I'm not even treated as a person, let alone your daughter. You call Leilah the "failure" of the family, yet you most likely do this because you are denying the fact it is a result of your own actions and parenting that Leilah did what she did." Sera accuses. She suddenly forms anger, adrenaline surging through her body. She stands up, and swings her arm at Sera using her ability. 'As expected.'

-"Don't you dare disrespect me in my own house!" Her mother calls out, aiming for her face. Sera catches it using her own ability, and her mother was remarkably... surprised.

"Wha- how?" She asks. Sera thinks about what would seethe her further. With that catch, her confidence is growing by the second.

-"Because I'm faster than you, obviously." Sera answers, adrenaline pumping through her blood, the same hormone inspiring her to say what came to her mind, as it was increasing her courage, and any emotions for that matter.

-"Seraphina, stop! Unfreeze me this instant!"

-"Not until you hear me out." Sera answers. She takes, once again, another deep breath. Her confidence and adrenaline start to wear out. 'That was very short lived. But... it was something.'

"I can't stand being here another day, so I'm leaving. How I leave, however, is up to you. I want my phone service and credit cards reactivated. I want a plane ticket back to Wellston," Sera starts, forming a plan in her mind. 'Hold on, where am I going to be staying? I didn't think this through. Too late to back out now,' "Oh, and I only fly first class, I am your daughter after all." Sera says, keeping her mother frozen. As she leaves the room, she closes the door behind her, and slides down the door, sitting down and sighing a deep sigh of relief.

'I did it, John! I finally broke free.'

'Hey cool, I don't feel like I just bombed that test. English Language and Composition is the worst class to have at the end of the day. At least it's over with, now. I wonder what Sera is up to?' John thinks to himself, picking up his stuff and heading out to his locker. He had already talked with the Headmaster to try to investigate Sera's predicament, but he said he had no news about her, so thankfully, nothing has happened to her, but that means this is definitely due to her parents. John knows this, and starts to worry. 'Hopefully she doesn't revert to believing that she had to be perfect. Stay strong, Sera.'
