Lies are bound to destroy someone's life, may it be for their own good or not. Hypothetically speaking, lying for someone else's sake is just reason of a bastard who wanted to save his good pitiful soul from the pits of hell. Lying is never okay and will never be.
That's why I don't understand other people. If not bunch of liars, some are bunch of hypocrites—well, we all are.
I hate how others from the other table were laughing with each other about their certain topic. I knew them for they were my classmates before. I knew how horrible they are.
I couldn't help but cringe when I saw Samantha playfully slapped Ariana, her so-called-bestfriend. Parang hindi nagsisiraan sa likod, ah?
On the other table, on my left were the jocks. The famous basketball players of our school. They were just all bunch of good looking players. And that's all.
"Fiore! Hi!"
I snapped back from my reverie. A loud thud almost made me jump from seat.
Bridge, with her manicured nails placed on top of the table was standing tall in front of me.
Now, what does she want?
Her fleek eyebrows almost made me grimace. She's known as the campus muse for winning the school's pageant last month. Though she's really pretty, her attitude sucks. Shame.
"Yes?" I tried not to stutter uttering the word.
I rolled my eyes mentally.
As it was 5 past 12, there's no doubt the open spaced canteen is rowdy. Thank God I was able to arrive here early, having the best seat. Just beside the bush, almost at the back to avoid attention from someone.
I bit my lower lip when she dragged the chair to sit in front of me.
"What is it, Bridgette?" I asked, slowly dragging the words from my mouth.
She leaned over, making her face occupy all of my view.
"I heard you're part of the Photography club..." she said in low tone voice.
My left eyebrow automatically raised, confused.
"Ah, so?"
I suddenly felt chills running down my spine when she let out a half-hearted smile. I clasped my hands under the table, secretly rubbing each of them to get rid of the goosebumps.
This is the first time we talked to each other. So weird.
I secretly took a glance on the plate infront of me. The creamy sauce of the pasta doesn't seem appetizing as it was before.
Instead, I directed my gaze on the cup of my favorite drink.
"A-ah... Kasi I have something to ask sana—"
"Fiore."
A sudden cold was felt creeping in my insides. The voice almost cold as the breeze of the night has entered my ear. With my view still the face of Bridgette, I noticed her lips twitch. Her weird demeanor from earlier was instantly replace by a timid one.
Hmm...
I squinted my eyes before reaching my ice cold drink from the table. Sipping from the straw before turning my head to have a look on the familiar voice calling my name.
The sunlight radiating almost made my eyes blind. Or was it simply emitting from the person's presence? It's as if he was standing there, but not be looked at. Instead, to be kneeled and bowed at since merely looking at him is considered offensive.
That's how he project himself. That's how I feel everytime we spent time with each other. That's how everyone describe him.
That I didn't even startle when I heard the chair Bridgette was sitting on was loudly dragged since she abruptly stand.
In front of me was Ectrie. The parasite in my life.
