"Uh, instinct?" I scanned the trees and noticed a figure in one of them.

"There!" I said, pointing to it. It was a man. He used two hook-swords and swung down to ground level, landing right on top of two more guards. Immediately, he dashed forward, hooking two more around the ankle and flipping them over his head.

"Down you go." He said. Sokka, Aang, Katara, and I broke into action. I blocked a sword with my bow, twisting it out of his hands and kicking him in the chest, sending him barreling into another guy. I noticed more people were dropping from the trees, but they seemed to be good guys.

In a matter of minutes, the Firebenders were defeated. I was finally able to get a good look at the guy that saved us. I gasped. I knew him! But, I thought he was....dead. He met my eyes and his face turned to pure shock. I slowly went to him, taking him his appearance. Shaggy brown hair, dark, almost wild eyes. He was taller, stronger than I remembered.

"Jet.." I whispered. Katara, who had been standing right next to him, looked between the two of us.

"Mari, you know him?" She asked. I nodded.

"He's my.....older brother." I said. Jet didn't say anything, only surged forward and wrapped me up in a hug. I dropped my bow and hugged him around the waist, tightly.

        "Your alive." He said.

"I'm alive? Your alive!" I said, pulling back, smiling widely. He put one hand on top of my head, returning my smile. Sokka and Aang joined us.

"You just took out a whole army almost single handily!" Aang said, full of complete awe. Sokka on the other hand, didn't seem to like jet at all.

"Oh please, there were like twenty guys." He said.

"Forty-six." I corrected. He made a face at me and I made one right back. Jet chuckled.

"You haven't changed Mar." He said. "Anyway, my name is Jet and these are my Freedom Fighters." Jet introduced, facing the others. He named off a few of his men, which included Sneers, Longshot, Smeller-bee, Pipsqueak, and the Duke. Aang walked up to the Duke and Pipsqueak.

"Ha ha, Pipsqueak, that's a funny name." He asked, looking at the little guy.

"You think my name is funny?" The huge man carrying a log as a weapon said. Whoa, plot twist.

"It's hilarious!" Aang answered. Sokka face palmed and I laughed. Jet ordered his men to loot the camp and take anything worth value. He leaned against a tree, watching.

"Hey, that's a nice bow." I said to Longshot. He gave a small smile, but remained silent. "You don't talk much do you?" He shook his head. I noticed Katara talking to Jet. She liked him, a lot. If only she knew the trouble maker my brother could be.

"So, he's the older brother you were talking about?" Sokka asked, coming up beside me. I nodded. "But I thought you said he was killed by the Fire Nation."

"I thought he was, I guess he escaped too." Flashbacks of that night raced through my head and I blinked back tears. Crying wasn't my thing.

"Hey, Mar, come here!" Jet called. I made my way to him.

"Yeah?" His eyes studied me for a moment.

"You were thinking about it weren't you. That night." I nodded. "That guy, Sokka, he doesn't seem to  like me very much." Jet said. I laughed.
