*Time-skip to Day of the Ball*
[ZACH'S POV]
It's about six hours from the Ball. I was in Mr. Adams' office, filling out some paperwork.
"You have to fill this papers for me," He had said. "It's for the show, you know we treat it like a send-off for this year so you'll have to tell me what your doing, do you need aid or backup, is there any effects needed, and so on. I'll be back in like 15 minutes, don't go anywhere."
No, I didn't need backup (I think)
No, I didn't need effects.
I'd just go in there and do my thing.
Easy, Right? Seemed so.
I finished Mr. Adams papers and I just stared at the ceiling fan.
"You're probably older than me, right?"
"..."
"So, you've seen how all the Balls or the End of Year Parties, whatever they call it go, are they hard to pull off in my position? Its my first time doing this stuff."
"..."
"Ok, I'll ask you this, if it's hard, send me an omen or something. Know what? Don't do it. If you send a omen that means something will happen, right?"
"..."
"Anything?"
"..."
The clock in the room showed that it was 12:17pm. I sank in my chair and laughed.
A bathroom break had turned into me missing the whole period. I knelt on the chair and looked through the window. No one was there.
"It's about time, I saw that omen." I called at the fan.
"..."
I sank back into my chair. Am I crazy, I thought, I'm talking to a fan. Wow. Where is this guy?
I left the room and made for the bathroom, hopefully no one saw me. It was empty and it had writings on the walls. Well, not on the main walls, but on those inside the cubicles.
I entered one of the toilets.
"*rap**rap**rap* Open up!"
"Occupied!" I called back.
The person stopped knocking and entered the other one.
Not up to 5 seconds later, he was at the door, louder than before.
"*RAP**RAP**RAP* OPEN UP ZACH, I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!"
"Chriss? The f*ck?"
"Yeah, open up. I want to come in, no homo though."
"What?" I said, disgusted. "F*ck no, the other is f–"
I heard the door creak.
"3, 2, 1—" I slammed the door shut and said, "I'm okay of you're gay, but this isn't the way to come out."
"But I ain't gay!"
"Says the man who tried to see me while in the toilet!"
-----------------------------------------------------
"You know you're going to be in trouble if they find out your here and not in class."
I leaned on the wall as he spoke.
"No, I have a pass AND an excuse, you're just on the route to detention."
The room was silent for some seconds, when Chriss was about to leave but I stopped him.
"Umm, Chriss, 'fore you go, you know the Ball is today, right?
"Mm hmm. Oh, you haven't asked anyone?"
"Exactly, but not really, who do I ask? Summer or Aubrey?"
Chriss scratched his head. Is this a good question, though?, I thought to myself.
"I don't know, your choice, just know, anything go wrong. I'm always here." He smirked, before making his way out.
"GAY!"
I just thought of something, and I called out to Chriss back.
"Yo, Chriss!"
He ran back. "[redacted], Hall monitor is out looking for me now! I gotta go! What?"
"I'm going to the studio today, to warm up my vocals, you coming?"
"We always go on Fridays, of course, Imma be there!"
"FOX! FOX! WHERE ARE YOU"
"S*it [redacted], I gotta go. See you later." Chriss said as he ran out.
I stayed some time before making my way to Mr. Adams' office.
