I didn't want to leave langdon after I was in my room. His presence bought warmth, a fresh face it was just exciting to say the least. I was so curious to hear about the others interviews.
I made my way down to the library happy to see gallant but he also looked very smug.
He was talking about langdon "he's a thousand percent gay. I felt the connection." He broads his shoulders and smiles and I sink into the couch next to him he runs to me.
"How was yours doll?"
"Interesting heh. I didn't feel like there was any Clarity though."
"Oh no I don't wanna leave you behind!" Gallant exclaims. His confidence was kind of getting on my nerves I felt him cling to me with fake sympathy.
"Yeah yeah. Don't get too cocky gallant." I stood up as coco began interrupt they were so admiring they were going to the sanctuary damn. Maybe my interview didn't go well.
I walked around the back of the couch scanning my eyes over the books blocking out their voices around me, when I book fell from the shelf infront of my feet.
I looked around to see if anyone noticed with my widened eyes, the others were to delved in their conversation but there stood langdon at the top of the balcony watching me intently. I snapped around wanting to break the gaze immediately feeling myself get nervous.
I Bend down picking up the book, some kind of bible I looked back to the balcony but langdon had left.
What was that?
I felt the pull gravitating from the book in my hand I tucked it underneath my arm sneaking back to my room.
"You okay aphra?" I heard Mallorys small voice calling from behind me.
"Uh yeah are you?"
"Yeah I have a note for you."she bought a note out of her dress with a small smile before scurrying off.
I kept walking as I unfolded the note keeping the book securely under my arm.
'Page 666'
Was all the note read... I guess this is referring to my book? How did he...
As I unlock my door I put the note on my table opening the book in my lap.
I scan through the pages trying to find page 666 but it has been ripped out.
I was confused beyond belief I felt there was only one way of settling this I had to find langdon.
I huffed, tucking the book underneath my pillow as I made my way to langdons office I knocked on the doors but as I did they opened slightly. His office looked vacant... I stepped inside the empty room but the doors slammed behind me.
Langdon was standing by my side with a smirk.
"I'm sorry I did knock."
"It's quite alright I was waiting for you." He says beckoning me over to his desk.
"Couldn't wait longer than an hour?" I ask smirking a little.
He sighed placing his hands on his desk raising an eyebrow at me.
"Listen here. You need answers, I have them. Are you going to play nice?" His tone a little colder than before his gaze never leaving my eyes.
His anonymity and mystery was beginning to spur something in me and quite frankly annoy me.
"Depends what are we playing?"I say crossing my arms sitting back in my chair.
He chuckles moving his hand to slide a piece of paper in front of me.
"666" he faintly says as I set my eyes upon the torn out page.
"Is this what you came looking for... Lilith." The name dropped off his tongue like a slow venom.
It felt like he had injected me with his words my veins fizzing.
"Lilith..." I whisper to myself before unfolding my arms taking the page in my hand.
But I could barely read the page my mind was buzzing my body was going crazy words and mementoes were trying to spill out I clenched my eyes shut feeling like my body was shutting down.
I felt langdons hand on my shoulder as he began to cooed "it's okay let it happen, I'm right here."
His touch once again sending electric heat through me all that I could breathe or say was one word.
"Michael."
As soon as I breathed the name out I felt the fizzing cool down my body regulated and Michaels grip on my shoulder tightened. I opened my eyes turning to him by my side.
"That's it." He breathed out almost sensualising the moment like some kind of climax.
He walked back over to sit opposite me I realised I hadn't even looked over the page he had given me.
"What was-"
"The void will be filled in time. You have to let it happen don't push it away."
"Michael" I repeated the name aloud as it echoed in my head further.
I felt like I could almost connect that blurry bright face from my memories with this name.
"Michael langdon." He says after me.
"We've met." Was all I could breathe out tilting my head at Michael.
He grinned before interlocking his hands and placing his head on them leaning forward.
"Yes, you were taken from my company, if it were up to me you wouldn't have left my side. But now that I've found you we need to ease those memories back to you."
I grew skeptical of the groomed man sitting in front of me, the power that he swam in and those shadowed eyes. Something about him screamed danger I shifted a little looking down to my lap.
I replayed the name over and over in my head but my body only grew even more tense and cold.
"I don't understand, w-why did you say Lillith?"
"I suggest you take this page away with you. I don't want to overwhelm little one." He moves back not taking his eyes off me.
I nodded hesitantly taking the page off the table and into my hands.
"Don't let wandering eyes question you." He says standing up from his chair I stayed speechless and arose from my chair.
Trying to make an exit without exchanging another look but as I reach the door langdon speaks "nice to see you again." I didn't look back to him but I could feeling his burning stare on my back.
Making my way to the hall I saw ms venebale walking towards me eyeing me up suspiciously.
"Care to explain." She looked down to my hand at the paper in my hand.
I stuttered for a moment "I-uh this is." She walks towards me snatching the page out of my hand I slightly flinched but I let her take it.
With her smug smile she scanned the page until she chuckled to herself as she crumpled the paper in her hand in a second. She looks back up to me tilting her head to the side "I didn't know you were religious, don't you think if there was a god he would have stopped the Armageddon?" She chuckles again.
I felt my back slumping slightly in defeat. I don't even know what was on the page. "Cat got your tongue?" I heard langdon from behind me and a warm hand on my shoulder.
I immediately straightened my back clearing my throat.
"I'm sorry, ms venebale is it also against the rules to be religious?" I say slightly more courageous with her almost dripping with fear regarding langdon behind me.
"Hmm rules. That reminds me ms venebale I think we are long overdue your interview. Would you excuse us?" I nod sheepishly walking away from the two empty handed. Shit.
