chapter 5

I'm in my room with my mom I need to tell her something

"Mom can I give you something" I ask

"Yes what is it honey" she asks

I give her a folded piece of paper that says: to mike

"If I die you give that to him" I say

She looks up at me tears eyed

"Will-"

"Mom please" I beg

"Ok baby" she says and hugs me

the party had to go home which really upset me well Mike and el are still here but I had fun with them that's all that matters I just want to go home with them but I know that's not possible I'm going to die I have accepted it the others need to too

"I wanna go home" I say

Its just me and mike again

"You will soon" he says

"No I won't" I say

"Yes you will" he says back

"No I won't mike you know that" I say

He bursts into tears right there

"Come here" I say and pat next to me on the bed

He comes up on the bed and crumples into my arms and sobs

"I can't lose you will I can't" he sobs

"Please don't leave me please don't leave me I need you I need you" he cries

I hug him tighter

"Are you scared" he asks me

"To die" I ask

"Yes" he says

I smile Mike has accepted that I'm going to die everyone else has I can see it in there eyes

"Yes I'm afraid mike I'm so scared I don't want to go" I say

That makes mike cry louder

"I'm sorry will" he says

"Its not your fault" I say

I wake up in the middle of the night in pain I cry it's just me and mike again

"Will what's wrong" Mike asks

"M-Mike" I say

Oh no I'm going to die

"Will will what's wrong should I get a doctor!?" Mike shouts

"Mike.." I say

"I'm dying" I say

"No! No I'm going to get a doctor we can can-" he says frantic

"Sh mike this is perfect with you" I say

Mike is now crying

My eyes slip close but I snap them back open no i can't go yet I need to tell him something

"Tell me mom and brother and el and the party I love them and I'll miss them" I say

"Will.." he cries

He cradles me in his arms

"And you mike wheeler I love you I always have since the swings and I'm going to miss you" I say

"I love you too will its always been you will I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner" mike sobs and smiles sadly at me

He places a gentle kiss on my lips

I smile weekly

"Crazy together" I say

"Yeah crazy together" he cries

Then all I see is darkness
