You and Erina are sitting at a table underneath a tree at the Pendleton estate's garden. An assorted variety of sweet and salty snacks lay across the table, your eyes growing wide with excitement to try them.
Erina watches you closely with a fond smile, a small laugh escaping when she watches you wiggle in your seat from trying the [f/f] cake. She brings her cup to her lips, her smile growing as you enjoy the many treats she had shipped over for you.
After taking a sip of her tea, she sighs wistfully before uttering, "[Y/n]?"
"Yes," you hum in response as you pop a chocolate macaron into your mouth.
"Would you run away if I told you that I wanted to keep you for myself?"
You choked on the macaron in surprise before hurriedly grabbing your cup of tea to wash it down.
"W-what?" You stared at her in mild surprise.
Erina smiles at your astonishment before asking again.
"Would you run away if I told you that I wanted to keep you for myself?"
The strange emotions shining in Erina's light blue eyes made you slightly wary as you take a moment to think over your response.
"Surely, you wouldn't confine me," you laugh a bit shakily.
"Of course not," Erina pipes up with false horror.
Lie.
"Besides, I'm sure you'd get tired of me." You glance briefly to the side before looking back at her.
Erina's cheeks flush slightly as she utters, "Nonsense! I absolutely adore spending time with you, [Y/n]. You always brighten up my day."
Truth.
"Honestly, I sometimes wish you'd live here with me, but I'd never force you to stay if you don't wish it."
Truth, then a lie.
You hide your unease by taking another bite of your [f/f] cake, the sweetness now tasting like ash.
Before you were graciously taken in by the Rosewell family, you lived on the streets. Over time, you learned to read people rather well, understanding when they told truths and lies. From there, you also learned how to respond correctly to them.
"Would you run away if I told you that I wanted to keep you for myself?"
Though it was a question, looking into Erina's eyes displayed what she is truly saying.
"I want to keep you for myself."
That's what the blonde is telling you and right now, the fear you felt while on the streets couldn't compare with the desire unabashedly shining within Erina's eyes.
