Chapter 5: Exploring my in-game storage!

When he finished tiding the house, the twins finished bathing and has changed into the new clothes he had bought in town which made them like a bright and adorable little doll and garnered more lovable points from Alkari.

They were very shy and look so happy at their new clothes. They became happier at the sight of new beddings and the comfortable quilts.

"Brother! The beddings and pillows are incredibly soft!" Luke cried out.

"The quilt too!!" Luka cannot help but to shout too.

The twins were too excited that they fell asleep cuddling in their new beddings and quilt. Their soft snores made Alkari's heart warm again.

Alkari readied to smoke the meat and preserve it with salt and store it in the storage. He also made some sausages and bacon which was the improved version of meat jerky and was more flavorful.

He did not smoke and salted all the meat since it would not be appropriate to cook it in another flavor so he stored the rest so he can cook it in other dishes. He also salted some eggs and buried it on the mud for preservation.

He used some flour to be made into noodles and baked some meat bun and made a special fruit bun with the fruits in his in-game storage. He noticed in town that they do not have fruit and vegetable buns so he thought of making one.

When he finished it. He cooked a porridge with milk and dates and boiled some eggs. When the little cubs have awoken, they would be hungry, so he had cooked in advance. It could be easily reheated so he did not worry that the food will go cold.

It was not yet late so he searches some close beastman in his memory that he could hire to cut some woods for them regularly.

Alkari was a half beastman and was quite delicate and the twins were too young so there would be no one to cut some firewoods for them. The family only relied on scavenging some branches in the forest for their firewood which was not enough for them to use. Alkari tried to axe some firewood but has only wounded his hands and the firewood was still intact.

Soon he found that there was a strong beastman in their village. His name is Caiden Njall which is a wolf beastman and he had also heard from Uncle Ytto earlier that some of the villagers had just returned from the Army and he was one of them. He was a fierce beastman with a scar on his face, that had spooked the children until they cried and that is also why the half-beastman would tend avoid him but he was a particularly good beastman. He had once helped the original get some firewood but the original ran away and did not face him.

"I-I can pay you 100 coppers everyday... and give you meal" Alkari said to him and whispered the last words still not looking at him with his ears twitching making Caiden want to touch those delicate white ears with pink in it but it would scare him away, so he refrains from touching it.

Although he did not in need of money, he still agreed.

"You don't need to pay me" Caiden said, his voice quite husky from not speaking daily.

Alkari blushed further at his voice and thanked him and ran away.

In his past life, he never communicated with someone who made his heart pound and it was a strange feeling, yet he did not dislike it at all, but he did not know what to do but he just ran away from him with his red face and twitching ears.

Caiden's eyes light up and his lips began to rise at the sight of the little white cat running away like a beast observing his prey running away. His eyes darkened at the thought of playing with the cute white cat.
