The harsh sound of running in a haste and the snapping of fallen branches are barely hidden under the mournful sky,rain drops as if tears of the heaven
But the two boy who made those sound doesn't stop even for the rains,worries evident on their faces as sweat flows off their youthful faces
Fatigue and their body screaming for rest the least on their mind
And behind them,a group of men chased after,screaming "stop" on the top of their voice,as loud as the sky permits,the weaponry on them shows the intent hidden behind their face
The two boy found themselve in a cave,luck seems to be on their side,at the very least they can get a bit of rest inside the warm and welcoming cave as the pouring rain hid them from their pursuers
The taller of the two,gently touch the other boy's leg carefully "How's your injury?" he asks with the same amount of gentleness
The little boy smiled warmly,perhaps even warmer than the cave they are currently in "it still hurts but it is bearable now" he speaks softly matching that of the face that speaks of it
The taller almost get lost in the little boy's warmth,but he luckily regained himself
Shaking his head a little "let's rest here a bit and we will continue on our way,okay?"
The little boy nods as he slowly flutters his eyelids close,yawning a bit as he rest his head upon the tallers shoulder,and the boy took this as a chance to take the little boy's hand in his
"Tomorrow will be sunny,i promise"
And he drift off to sleep too
The taller boy was the prince of the city and the smaller boy was the son of the royal head quard.
The two had fallen in love and has been secretly seeing each other for some time,but unfortunately,the King had unfortunately caught the two while they were kissing secretly
The King told his royal head guard,who was the smaller boy father and they were so angered and ashamed of the situation that they lost all sight and ordered the two boy to be executed immediately
The Queen felt sorry for his son,but she has neither the authorit nor the means to defy the order of the King
However because of the love she has for her son,she risked her life to help the two escaped and run away.
The King soon found out that his son had run away with his lover and quickly told his soldier to stop them,one of the soldier managed to hit the smaller boy's leg but he fortunately made it out.
After what seems only seconds of rest,they heard yelling and shuffling of the soldiers
The taller inspect the place and surrounding and found no signs of the pursuers so he made the decision to run while they still can
"Let's go" he whispered,earning a nod from the smaller
They sneaked through the grass and hid among various things,and finally they are only a distance away from the boat that the Queen prepared for their get away "we are almost there now" the taller assured but he saw that the smaller was almost unconscious from the loss of blood,he knows they need to hurry
The prince help the smaller,making their way to the boat,moments away from their freedom
After this is done,they can be together peacefully and no one will disturb them ever again
The prince carefully help the smaller onto the boat "we are safe now" he smiles cheerfully
"I-i'm so happ-"
But luck turns out to betray them,he saw a something move in his peripheral "GET DOWN" he shouts
But it's too late as his lover has been pierced by an arrow through the back,right by where his heart lies
The prince breath is stuck in his throat and his heart raging like the river in front of him,he screams in agony and of anger
The small boy fell into the river,but the prince grab his hand not letting go
"L-let go,live f-for me" the smaller hoarsed,but he still has the same smile on his face
"N-no no please just hold on" the prince sobbed,pitifully holding on to his dying lover's hand
But the smaller accept his fate already as he let a tear escape from his eye "i-i love you" but the smile never wavers
He never wants the first time he said those words to be like this so all he can do to make it better is at least with a smile,as hard as it might be,even if it's the last thing he will ever say again in this life
The prince still held on,he too crying his eyes out with the heaven "please,p-please i love you too,d-don't leave me"
But the poor boy has no life in him left to reply,only left with the sobs of the prince who is still holding him
Suddenly,the rain worsen and the river flowed relentlessly,so the prince gathered all his strength,swallowed all his agony and made a last promise to his lover
"I'll be waiting,even if it take hundreds and thousands of years,i'll wait for you and I,Park Sunghoon,promises to find you Kim Sunoo"
As the river pulled his lover from him as if trying to steal him,while the soldier stab him through his beating heart
