The song above ~ I'll Be Good  by James Young

*****

They all hate me.

I can see it in their faces as I walk down the hall.

Judging me.

They smile and wave as I walk past, but I can see it, past their masks is criticism.

They're all fake.

Each and every single one of them.

They tell me that they love me, that they want to be my friend.

But when they walk away all my doubts start to float in.

Suddenly all the halls fall silent, and the students turn around they start to walk towards me and lock me in their crowd.

I'm surrounded at all angles, with no room for escape.

Fortunately, they don't move any closer or even say a word.

But their gazes burn into me like they're marking me with a brander.

I can't take it anymore, someone makes it stop.

"GET AWAY!!!" I scream at them to move.

They blink and stay in place.

"PLEASE, SOMEONE MOVE!"

"GO AWAY, GO AWAY, GO AWAY!"

*****

My eyes open wide, and I push myself up in bed

My breath coming out in a gasp. I reach my hand to my forehead and my other to my heart.

That was such a strange dream, although it felt pretty real.

My heart is now beating erratically and my head is pounding.

I stay in bed for a couple more minutes before I get out and head to my closet.

I pull my suitcase out and throw basically all of my clothes into it along with four others.

My parents are going out of town today for six months, for their work. On top of that, they're leaving me with a complete stranger. I can't even stay in my own home.

Apparently, it's some guy they've known since forever.

This is probably true since they're basically medieval.

And honestly what could go wrong with me staying with an 80-year-old grandpa.

Did you note the sarcasm?

My parents swear up and down that I'll love him.

He's super nice they say.

He's super respectful they say.

He's super funny they say.

Yea. Well, he seems super annoying I say.

And If he bothers me a lot he might just get my foot up his a** I say.

*****

"Nadia let's go we're going to be late!" my mother yells at me through the door.

"It's not my fault I had to get up at the crack of dawn."

"Don't talk back to me young lady," she states firmly as I walk out of my room.

"I wasn't, I wasn't," I put my hands up in front of me in surrender.
