Moving on

Josette's POV

Denise: "we have so much catching up to do" she said as she watched Zoey run around the backyard

This was the first time I've Been to Zo's actual house and not his parents house

Zo was at practice, Gelo was working out with Lavar, Kaliah had a family reunion to go to, and Melo was signing his papers for the Hornets so it was just me, Denise, and zoey

Denise: "what are you gonna do now that melo's moving?"

"He wants me to visit whenever I can but I've been talking to Lavar and he's got a better idea"

Denise: "which is?"

"Moving to Charlotte for a while"

Denise: "are you considering it?" she asked

"Maybe, there's really nothing here for me so it's not like I'll be leaving anything behind but I wanna talk to Melo about it first" I shrugged

Denise: "didn't you guys just start dating? I'm sure he'll want you there"

"We did and I don't know..men need their space" I shrugged

Denise: "you're handling this really well"

"There's really no other way to handle it. I can't get mad because I knew what the deal was when I agreed to date him... just didn't think everything was gonna move this fast"

Denise: "When Zo was traded i Damn near lost My mind"

"Why?"

Denise: "I guess I forgot that LA wasnt his only option" she shrugged

"Melo's a good person; I wouldn't even want LA to be his only option"

Denise: "what happens if you talk to him about it and he doesn't want you going?"

"I won't go" I shrugged

Denise: "you're not gonna be mad?"

I shook my head

"This is his career. he's not moving for fun; he's moving to make a living"

Denise: "you two definitely belong together" She laughed

"We do?"

Denise: "absolutely because you're super understanding and always has his best interest in mind. I'm glad he's got you"

"Thanks" I said as I twiddled my thumbs

I heard the horn honk outside so I looked out the window

"Speaking of Melo; he's here" I said as I stood up and grabbed my stuff

Denise: "thanks for keeping me company" She said as we hugged

"Any time, bye zoey" I said before heading to the door

Zo was walking in as I was walking out

"Hi Zo, bye Zo" I said as I walked to Melo's car

Zo just laughed as I got in the car

"Hey, how was contract signing?" I said to Melo with a smile

Melo: "pretty exciting. How was hanging with Denise?"

"Average"

Melo: "we need to talk about some things"

"Okay"

Melo: "not in the car though"

"Okay.." I said in a lower tone

When we got to Melo's house we just sat facing each other

"Sooo?..."

Melo: "I'm pretty sure you already know that I'm gonna have to move to North Carolina.."

"Yeah I know" I said as I laid back on the sofa

Melo: "That's far as fuck from you and my family.."

"Yup, other side of the state" I said as i twiddled my thumbs

Melo: "I know this is gonna sound crazy since we literally just made things official but... would you mind moving out there with me? I really don't wanna be completely by myself"

I felt a huge weight lift off of my shoulders

"Sure; I have family out there that I wouldn't mind seeing" I smiled

Melo: "we're gonna be there for a while so-"

"Instead of a suitcase I should be packing moving boxes for my things?"

Melo: "Yeah.. everything except furniture" He laughed

"You seem nervous" I laughed

Melo: "I just asked you to move in with me... in a house across the state; of course my nerves are bad" He laughed

I couldn't help but laugh

"I literally have 5 friends here...you, Kaliah, Gelo, Denise and Zo. Kaliah spends majority of her time with Gelo and Denise is gonna be leaving with Zo back to New Orleans soon...without you I'll be alone"

Melo: "in all honesty I thought you'd wanna stay here; that's why I was scared to ask"

"Well I'm glad you did because I'd like to get the fuck out of chino" I said causing him to laugh
