"I told you about my wedding dress appointment with Wanda tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, told me last week I think," Bucky nodded, taking a giant bite of the New York pie.

The two hadn't really discussed wedding details much even though they planned to. Maybe a small idea here and there, but nothing special. Mainly because Y/N had something up her sleeve.

"Buck, can I ask you something?" Y/N said forgetting the food and watching as Bucky turned chewing more than his mouth could hold.

"Of course. You know you can," he attempted to say as best as he could with his chipmunk cheeks.

She turned in her spot looking out the large windows to the west that covered the wall.

"Actually, it's best I show you."

"Show me what?"

She stood up taking the food from his hand and hers and putting them back in the pizza box.

"Come on," she smiled, extending her hand to him. Alpine who was sitting in the middle of the two letting out a meow as he stretched and jumped down to join the adventure.

"Yes ma'am," he smiled, taking her hand and using it to pull up.

They walked over to the back door, and Y/N began leading the trio out into their land. Alpine venturing off on his own at some point to play with a cricket in the grass. The sun was on its last glow for the evening. Just enough light to get to the tree Y/N was headed to before the moon and stars were their new source of light.

"This is the tree May and you were talking at, right?" Bucky asked looking up into the giant monster of a tree that canopied over them.

"Yeah, how'd you know? I thought you guys were by the shop when we were out here," Y/N asked, turning and looking at him as he admired the trunk.

"Came out for a second to grab some water for Ben. I saw you two talking and couldn't help but stare for a little," he grinned down at her and took her hand before looking back around him.

"I never told you about what we talked about though, did I?"

"No, just that May was really wise and that you admired her. Which I have to agree on. Benjamin was the same. Man was constantly spilling knowledge to me."

"They're a great couple," Y/N grinned taking in a big breath and closing her eyes.

"So why'd you take me out here?" Bucky asked, turning to her. "And why are you doing your whole deep breath, closed eyes, soft smile look. Something making you happy?" he teased smiling at her smile.

"You can read me really well, can't you?" she said with her eyes still closed.

"I hope so after all the years we've known each other." He brought his thumb to run over her cheek as he took her in.

She took another deep breath in taking in the moment, and leaning into his touch.

"What's on your mind Y/N/N?"

"You wanna know what May told me about this tree?" she said after a second and finally opening her eyes to look at his even if it was too dark to really see the clear blue orbs.

"If you want to share."

"She told me it was the first tree on their land that had fully grown."

Bucky turned to it looking it up and down. "I can see that. It's one of the biggest and oldest ones on our land."

"She said this is where they started their beginning."

"Started their beginning?"

"It was a symbol of their start together. It was the first tree on their land and held all kinds of memories for them."

"That's sweet," Bucky grinned looking up through the leaves where the moonlight filtered through them. Y/N leaning into his side as he pulled her in at the hip.

"I want to start our beginning here," Y/N said softly after a moment of peaceful silence.

"What do you mean?" Bucky asked a little confused by what she was getting at with that statement.

"I mean, I think we should get married under this tree."

There was a quiet pause as Bucky looked down at his fiance. She was grinning up at him with a soft smile that showed she was very sure in what she had just said.

"You're ok with that?" Bucky said cocking his head some.

"Of course. I'm more than ok with that," she chuckled at his shock. "Why do you seemed surprised?"

"I thought you would want this extravagant venue for all of our friends and family. Ok, not extravagant, but something more classic."

"Bucky, you just bragged about how well you know me after all these years. You really think I need something 'extravagant'?" she laughed again.

"Well, no, but every girl's dream is of something crazy nice for their wedding, right? One night to go above and beyond," he said genuinely confused. Clearly this man had believed this detail all his life.

"Not every girl, B," she said wrapping her arms around his middle and smiling up at him. "But what do you think? Think this would be a good spot for us?"

"Darling. If I get to see you in a white dress walking toward me at all, I'll be the happiest man alive," Bucky smiled pressing a kiss to her forehead before pulling her in tight.

"Perfect. How does this week sound?" she said as casually as a person could.

Bucky tensed and pulled back slowly to look at her. "I'm sorry. You're going to have to repeat that."

"This week. You have the week off and the venue is at our house. I already have a dress appointment tomorrow. You have like 20 tux. What more do we need?" She spoke calmly.

"What about the officiant? The flowers? Food? Guest? I mean there's a lot more, right?" Bucky questioned. He was more worried about her missing something for her sake rather than his own.

"I talked to Steve the other night, and he told me he was still certified to officiate if we wanted him to thanks to marrying some old soldier friends of you guys. The flowers can easily be put together with all the gardening I've done. Food will be easy because Wanda has a friend in the catering business who said they can do something small soon if we wanted."

"You had this all mapped out," he chuckled with the lopsided grin looking down at her.

"Just in case," she shrugged with an innocent smile. "But now... I can't wait any longer Buck. I don't need something crazy nice. I just need something special." She tucked some of his hair out of his face. Both their eyes adjusting to the moonlight. "As long as you're a part of it, it's more special than I could ever imagine."

There was a pause as they took in each other's features in the moment. Bliss was a simple way to put it, but truly no word in the english dictionary could describe the emotions of pure joy and contentment in this moment.

"I would love nothing more than to start our new beginnings right here with you, Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N."

"And I you, James Buchanan Barnes."
