"Alright!" she says enthusiastically as she stands up and slams her hands on the table, causing you to jump a little. "First thing's first. You're gonna go up there and ask the teacher for extra credit!", she demands. "What's it gonna do? My grades are so fucked.", you hopelessly say. "Well of course they are with that attitude."

The bell rings and students swarm out of the classroom door. You stand up to do the same, but you feel Hange grip your shoulders. "C'moooon (Y/N)!" she says as she escorts you to the front of the desk. Your teacher brings her eyes up to look at you. "(Y/N) would LOVE the chance to earn some extra credit." she says with a big smile on her face. It's a good thing Hange is close to the teacher. It's obvious she's her favorite student. "Well....I'm not sure. If you're up for it, I'll count it as a test grade if you can find some animal bones and properly identify them." It was an obscure task, but it was also an anatomy class.

"That's perfect!", Hange shouts before you get a say in the matter. You want to object and ask for something simpler, but you really need the test grade. You sigh and agree. Then, something surprises you. Hange pulls you into a hug. She's always been one to give a death-grip hugs that leaves you aching. You haven't felt one in a while and it brought great comfort to you. She then lifts you off of the ground and begins to spin you around in circles. This spinning motion and the pressure of her arms on your chest forces out a laugh. When's the last time you genuinely laughed? Hange really knew how to bring out the best in you.

Your feet meet the ground. "Sorry about that. I'm just so excited! You can come over and we can work together! Just like old times!" she begins to slightly bounce up and down as her abundance of energy begins to overflow. You take and deep breath. Her energy was almost overwhelming. How can someone burn so much energy every second yet still seem to always be restless. She never stops moving and she never stops thinking. She's always been like that though. As a child, she would always challenge you to races that were always impossible for you to win, but you would always fight to keep up. Why don't you fight anymore? Where in your life did you give up on keeping up? You miss those races. While you are excited to spend time with her, you can feel a build up of guilt grow in the bottom of your throat. You realize now that you've waisted so much time thinking instead of actually living. All of those mornings you never left your bed. All those texts and calls you've ignored and plans you've canceled. Maybe these next few days you can right your wrongs.

"Well when are we getting started? I'm free all week long for you to come over.", she says as she begins to put her texts books in her backpack. "Well I'm free today, but I'll need a ride. I haven't been driving a lot recently." you say as you follow her lead and pack up your belongings. "AWESOME!" Her volume catches you off guard again. A smile grows on your face as you realize how genuinely excited she is to spend time with you.

You spend the rest of the school day completing your work for the first time in months. "It's time for a change." you think to yourself. Once the last bell of the day blares across campus, you walk into the school courtyard to meet up with Hange. She's excitedly waiting for you in the parking lot, waving her arms to grab your attention. You chuckle and shake your head as you walk towards her direction. "Well," she says once you're finally face to face in front of her car. "Hop on in! This is gonna be fun!"
