"Oh, I took it off before I hopped into the shower yesterday," I replied him.

"That makes sense. I suggest we let it off while you rest, it only supports you when you walk. I also brought you an ointment to relax the muscles when it hurts," he explains with a small smile.

"We can fix your ankle, Luna."

This took me by surprise.

"It's a painful process but at the end you will be no longer in pain," he continues.

A smile creeps on my face, I never thought it could be fixed.

He was done looking at my ribs and ankle, so he shifted his focus to my cuts and burns. He scanned my arms and suddenly his gaze got stuck on one of my bigger burns.

I wanted to pull my arm away from his gentle touch, but he didn't let me.

He examined all my burns on my arms. I was confused, didn't he already see them?

His eyes widened, this indicated he realized something.

"How could I be so stupid?" he asked himself.

I gave him a confused look, what did he mean?

"These burns aren't first degree burns, they were far more severe and are still healing," he stated.

He didn't ask because he had already figured it out.

"Yes," I replied even if he didn't ask.

His glossy eyes met mine showing me every emotion he was feeling.

"You don't have to tell me if you're not ready, but how did you get these?"

I realized I wanted to tell him, trust him, even though he probably knew how I got them.

Some severe burns were still healing, making them look like minor burns, while the others already disappeared only leaving a small scar.

"He caused it with his lighter as a punishment, it was one of his favourites because it hurt so much. I will never forget the smell of my burned skin, and he knew it," I whispered.

A lonely tear left my eye, rolling down my cheek.

"My nightmare from yesterday was about the first time he did it," was all I said.

"Thank you for telling me." he calmly said while giving me a consoling hug.

I didn't expect that it would be so easy to tell him, but Cole was so understanding.

Someone knocked on the door and entered without waiting for an answer.

Ethan came in with a plate and a glass of orange juice while grinning at me.

"I brought you breakfast."

"I can see, thank you," I smiled at him.

"Guess what has two thumbs and is going to spend the rest of the day with you."

Before I could answer he held his thumbs up and yelled:"This guy!"

I laughed at his ridiculousness, there is seriously something wrong with him.

"I need to get going, work is waiting for me. You need to take these pills three times a day, they will help manage the pain. Remember don't take them on an empty stomach," he warned me.

After, he placed a kiss on my head and disappeared.

"So what do you want to do?" Ethan asked after I ate my breakfast and took my pills.
