"what- are you insane? i'm not risking getting fired and probably executed?!" kahn scowls at y/n as if he had just seen a ghost.
"i'm not insane- you're insane! if you can do one thing to help me it's this. i haven't known them for long but... my friends could be dying out there. we're soldiers who promised to do anything for the rising of humanity. sitting and cowering behind walls while our comrades die isn't right." the girl folds her arms. "either you help us, and give us a better chance of survival, or people end up dying on our way there."
the tension remains for a moment, until kahn turns his back, "mishel, i'm going for work! the neighbours will be 'round in a bit... i love you." he shouts, and ends his sentence softly. he pulls y/n's black cloak off the coat-hanger by the door, and hands it to her. "follow me." the trio walk determinedly through trost, and upon reaching the supply base, y/n and jean hide behind a small building. "boys." kahn utters to a couple of soldiers guarding the base, as they immediately salute 'sir!' and wither out of his way. y/n leans against jean beside her, finally understanding kahn's authority within the military police.
