Act One: Chapter 5

How could he? How could he do that to her?
She trusted him with things she'd never told anyone before, and this was what he did with it.

Out of nowhere, Mor had the sudden urge to wash her mouth out, to brush away at her teeth until she was absolutely certain there wasn't a single trace left of his lips on hers. She wanted to scrub her skin clean where he had touched her, had stroked the sides of her torso as she straddled his lap. She wanted to wash her hands until they were shrivelled and soaked to get rid of the feeling of his chocolate curls through her fingers. She wanted to flush her mind of the recurring image of his mesmerising blue-green eyes staring at her like she was the only one he saw - which she now knew was total bullshit.

Rubbing her hands over her face, Mor bit her lip and rolled over in her bed.
Terra must've slipped back into her own room whilst she was still asleep, and a new feeling wrapped its fingers around her, coiling her stomach and setting her blood on fire.
Anger. Red, hot, raging anger.
At herself for being so foolish, at Riven for being such a heartless dick, at Beatrix for taking the damn video in the first place, at Dane for causing such pain for Terra - who only treated the boy with kindness and honesty.

As Mor hauled herself to her feet, she winced at the tightness across her stomach and lifted her pyjama top up a fraction and stared at her scar in the mirror. It was nowhere near as red and swollen as it had been before, but there were still pinkish parts of skin. The scar itself was a thin, jagged line about the length of her hand that reached from her belly button and disappeared beneath her short's waistband, stopping at her hip.
She sighed, tracing the scar before dropping her shirt back down and turning to the draws and grabbing some clothes for the coming day.

For the past two days, Mor had been staying in the dormitory and keeping out of lessons - all on the advice of Dowling - and just regaining her strength and energy.
But today, much to her joy, was her first day back.

After getting dressed and pulling her hair back into a slightly messy, plaited bun, Mor slipped out of her room - Stella already having left sometime earlier.

"Morning, Sleeping Beauty." Musa looked up from her steaming cup of tea.

Mor glanced around the suite and realised that it was just her and the Mind Fairy, "Morning."

"How are you feeling?" Musa asked, patting the space on the sofa beside her, and Mor obliged.

"Shit." She groaned, suppressing a yawn, "Where is everyone?"

"On their way to breakfast, or rather, Aisha's new office. We agreed to let you sleep a bit longer."

Mor nodded slowly, only just realising how hungry she actually was, "So why are you here?"

Musa dropped her gaze as a giddy smile appeared on her face, "Sam just left."

"Ah yes, Terra's brother." Mor smirked, "Does she know yet?"

The girl shook her head, taking a sip from her tea, and Mor sighed.
She knew that Musa was anxious about what the Earth Fairy would think, but to be honest, Mor didn't think Terra would even care. In fact, if anything, she would support the relationship - just as everyone else who knew about it did.

"You should tell her." Mor fiddled with the fraying rips in her jeans, "She deserves to know, and she won't mind at all. I know she'll support it."

Musa just fixed her with a disbelieving look and shook her head again.

Mor rolled her eyes, "What, I was right about the Empath thing, wasn't I? She understands that, doesn't she?"

"Yes, but my magic and her brother are two very different things!" Musa explained, fighting back the amused smile that was tugging at the corners of her lips, "Come on, we should get going."
