Josephine walks into the 21st precinct in full gear. Her combat uniform was still on, her side sig, along with the one on her leg, with her knife on her other leg and her bulletproof vest.
"Can you let me upstairs?" Josephine asked as she's holding a file.
"I can't just let you upstairs." Platt said.
"I have something important to tell Hank Voight." Josephine said.
"You need the right credentials." Platt said.
"I'm Staff Sergeant Josephine Voight with the U.S. Marines. I need to talk with Hank Voight. So let me upstairs before I get someone to do it for me." Josephine said with an attitude.
"Just pull the door." Platt said as she unlocks the door.
Josephine walks up the stairs to Hank's office and she closes the door.
"Josie, what are you doing here?" Hank asked.
Josephine gives him the file.
"Corporal Deacon Crawford was murdered yesterday and no one is doing anything about it." Josephine said.
"Intelligence can take over the case." Hank said.
"Can I stay?" Josephine asked.
"You should so we can have background on this guy." Hank said.
They walk outside his office.
"We got a case." Hank said before looking at his daughter.
"Corporal Deacon Crawford was murdered inside his home yesterday after getting shot 10 times." Josephine said as she begins to set up the board.
"Why don't we question the person who found him?" Adam suggested.
"I have an alibi. I was at the base getting everything settled for getting boots." Josephine said.
"Boots?" Adam asked as he starts to get confused.
"Recruits." Jay said.
"This is Staff Sergeant Josephine Voight." Hank said.
"Yes, I'm his daughter." Josephine said, before anyone could ask questions.
"What do you know about Deacon?" Jay asked.
"He was a heck of a Marine. Deke saved countless lives including mine. I can't think of anyone who could do this." Josephine said.
"Is his apartment the same as the day of the murder?" Jay asked.
"Still taped off." Josephine said.
"Jose, take Halstead with you and look around the place and see if you guys can find anything." Hank said.
They get to Deacon's apartment.
Josephine takes a deep breath as she sees the blood is still there.
"We'll find out whoever did this." Jay said.
Josephine starts to walk around the apartment looking for any clues.
"Did he have any hiding spots for things?" Jay asked.
"I'll look in the spots I know of." Josephine said.
They begin looking for anything.
"Halstead, I think I got something!" Josephine shouts as she sees the kitchen island looking weird.
Jay walks into the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" Jay asked as Josephine is trying to pry open the island with her knife.
"It looked out of place." Josephine said.
*Author's Note*
Do you like it so far? Why do you think the kitchen island is out of place?
