[Kirishima POV]
Kirishima woke up to the smell of breakfast drifting through his nose.
The sunshine poured through the open crack in the curtains.
Kirishima, with a smile, got up to veiw the day before him.
Today is my 16th birthday he smiled.
Looking at his hand, his smile grew even more. There, tied to his ring finger, was the Red String of Fate.
A string said to be tied to your soulmates ring finger by the other end.
Now usually one would think that you could just pull on the string to find them quicker, but the string can shrink and grow in length.
Kirishima sauntered down to the kitchen to grab his food. "Eijirou, Happy Birthday my strong man." Kirishima's mother arrived soon after to hug her son.
"Thanks mum," Kirishima smiled and continued eating. [A/N: I'm Australian btw, I spell it 'mum']
"Hurry up eating, I'll drive you to the school." Kirishima nodded and stuffed the rest of the bacon in his mouth
"Rufthi doh gho" Kirishima smiled to his mother while she giggled.
"C'mon, let's get going." They both got up and left the house towards the car.
On the way to the school, Kirishima kept looking at the string tied to his ring finger, wondering how it worked.
The string hadn't go caught in the car door, it looked as if it had disappeared for a while.
The car pulled up at the school and Kirishima got out. He stayed there standing for a while staring at the string to see how far he could see it.
But he saw nothing... It was levitating but invisable.
"Hey Kiri! Happy Birthday bro!" Kaminari had run up behind him and hugged his friend. Kirishima staggered foward trying to keep his footing still from the extra weight.
"Hey Kami," Eijirou smiled.
"Did you get your string?" Kaminari's eyes were sparkling at this point.
"Yeah i did," Kirishima chuckled to himself. "How come you never told me you can't see the string at a long distance?"
"Because I wanted it to surprise you. Now we can look for our soulmates together."
"Alright then, we'll help each other." Kirshima stuck out his hand.
Kaminari took Kirishima's hand and shook it once. "Deal."
At that, the bell rang and they both headed to class, knowing they'd be late, talking about random things.
"How could you be late! You're lucky that Aizawa-sensei hasn't arrived yet. Take your seats before he arrives."
"Damn Iida, chill." Kaminari saundered over to his seat behind Ojirou, Kirishima following suit.
"Alright class, be quiet, Iida sit down." Aizawa walked- well more so waddled into the classroom with his sleeping bag.
"Yes sensei."
"Right, now-" Aizawa was talking but that's not what Kirishima was paying attention to, though he should've been.
Kirishima was paying attention to the string tied to the ring finger.. more specifically, his soulmates finger.
"Psst, Kiri, whatcha lookin' at bro?" Kaminari followed Kirishima's still gaze and saw Bakugou staring outside the window. "Why are you looking at Bakugou?"
Kirishima still hadn't said anything. "Hey, buddy," Kaminari waved his hand in front Kirishima trying to get his attention. "Wake up."
"Kaminari! Kirishima!" Denki jumped in surprise, getting Kirishima to snap out of it in the process. "That's detention, pay attention."
"Aw man," Kaminari mumbled to himself, turning back to the front.
Kirishima, however, had zoned out again, this time staring at his hands.
Was Bakugou really his soulmate? he thought. Nah, he must've been seeing things..
Class ended a bit after and so did the day. Kaminari and Kirishima stayed behind in the classroom for their detention.
"Sorry for getting you detention on your bday man." Kaminari was half standing, leaning on a desk, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Nah, it's fine, it's-" Kirishima trailed off when he noticed Bakugou outside the window by the gate of the school.
"Kirishima? Ughh don't tell me you zoned out again." Kaminari groaned.
"Denki.."
"Hmm?" Kaminari looked up at his friend.
"Why do you think Bakugou is just standing there?" Kirishima nodded his head towards the direction of his gaze. His hands placed gently on the sill of the window.
"Hmm, dunno, I don't think anyone is here besides us and some teachers- speaking of, where do you think Aizawa sensei is-"
"He's holding something, you think he bought a gift for me?" Kirishima turned around slightly, towards Kaminari with a happy expression. Hands starting to slip off the windowsill.
"Who knows," Kaminari shrugged.
"Well now," the raspy deep voice behind them sounded, "you both are now free to go, don't disrupt or talk in my class again. Got it?"
"Yes Sensei." Both Kami and Kiri said at once. Aizawa nodded and they both ran out.
Kaminari and Kirishima had made it to the gate to see Bakugou still waiting there with a not so patient expression. Kaminari said his goodbyes and left with a wink.
"Hey Bakubro, why're you still here?" Kirishima spoke with a smile plastered on his features.
"Well I wanted to give you this since I knew today was your birthday and before you open it, I know it's small and probably weird but-" Bakugou gave Kirishima the present to open while talking, which Kirishima did, "I heard from others that you were planning to learn the guitar so I thought I'd help."
Kirishima picked up a guitar pick from the small box. "W-wow, thanks Bakugou." He was dumbfounded.
Kirishima looked past the box and noticed Bakugou's ring finger. So he wasn't imagining it, but why can he see it?
"Hey Bakugou, about my birthday, since I'm 16- mmph" Kirishima was cut off by Katsuki Bakugou's lips.
