" We've been more vulnerable before, that's what I don't get. We're all vulnerable when we sleep, or when we walk home from school. " Mollie said

" Molls, none of us walk home from school. " Zach replied to Mollie's sentence.

" Not the point Zach. We need to figure out why he attacked now and why he was alone. " Mollie looked at her friends waiting for them to agree with her.

" We also need to figure out who he is, that could help us. " Trevor suggested. The six supernatural teenagers and Trevor made their way back to the field while discussing how they were going to find out who the alpha was and what his background could be.

The game had ended about fifteen minutes after the group had arrived back to the field, the cyclones had lost by seven points, not their best game. Mollie caught a ride home with Trevor and Zach, he had been picked up by Trevor before the game because he had been having car troubles and y car troubles he means his breaks were cut, definitely did not find out in a good way either.

Mollie, Lizzie, and Hailey had been sat in the library all day long, reading any books that had to do with a Pheonix. After a long weekend of once again looking online for answers about anything supernatural, they had found close to nothing. The three girls had agreed that Monday they would skip class and spend the whole day in the school's library so they could do research. Mollie had sat with her legs up on the table reading a book, they have read six books in total since school had started, they were now on their free period. Mollie groaned while trying to get into a more comfortable position. " We've been reading books for hours and we've found nothing new."

Lizzie looked over at Mollie tiredly, while trying to get comfortable as well. " Good thing we only have an hour of school left. " Lizzie said while trying to sound hopeful. The three girls went back to reading until the end of the school day, when the final bell rang they closed their books and walked as fast as they could out of the school. They met up with their friends by Trevor's jeep.

" Did you guys find anything? " Josh questioned the three girls. They shook their heads with an annoyed look on their faces.

" We read almost eight books and it's all the same. We even tried asking the librarian and she didn't know either. " Lizzie answered while shutting off her phone. The four guys continued to ask questions and they all received the same answer, a no. The teens bid their goodbyes to one another as they left the school.

Zach and Trevor were sat in the front seat of Trevor's jeep while Mollie was in the back. Trevor had suggested that the three of them go back to the old barn where Mollie had been bit, why you might ask, Mollie has no clue she asked the same question several times. Zach had tried explaining to her that maybe he could pick up the alpha's sent and try to find him to ask questions.

" Why in hell would we want to ask an alpha, who let me add bit me and turned me, questions? " Mollie looked at Zach in disbelieve from the back of the car.

" I don't know, maybe he knew you'd turn out different. That could've been a reason why he bit you, maybe he knows what else you can do. "

Zach, if and I mean if we find him, what makes you think he won't attack us and try to kill you, get me into his pack, or try to turn Trev? "

Zach looked back at Mollie with a look that said " I didn't think about that. " Mollie glared at him as they arrived at the old barn. The three got out of Trevor's jeep and walked up to the barn, as they got to the big red barn doors Zach had pried them open. Trevor and Mollie followed Zach inside the barn, almost immediately Zach was at the back of the barn where they had all got attacked. Trevor was walking around the back door when he noticed there was a house about two football fields away.

" Hey guys, there's a house back here! " Trevor yelled to Zach and Mollie, they walked outside the back door to where Trevor was to look at the house.

" We should go back there. " Zach suggested. The three started their journey to the house, Mollie complained almost the whole way there about ruining her shoes. Once they arrived Trevor had suggested that they walk around the house before they knock, just in case they can see inside a window, who knows someone could be getting murdered in there. They made their way around the house, once they reached the back of the house they saw that the back door was wide open.

" Should we go i- " Before Mollie could finish her sentence Zach was already halfway through the door. " Okay, there's my answer I guess. " With that Mollie and Trevor followed Zach into the house. It was almost pitch black once they took their first turn in the house, they grabbed their phones and turned on the flashlights, and slowly walked through the house. After searching around the first floor they walked up the stairs and once they got to the first door they heard a noise come from it, almost like two people were arguing. Zach shushed them while motioning to them to turn off their flashlights. They leaned closer to the door so they could try and hear.

" Why do you need to bite more people, didn't you already bite the girl. " They all looked at each other while they heard the muffled voices of two men.

" I need more people, she's useless anyway. She hasn't even found out all of her abilities yet. " This time Mollie moved closer to the door to listen, maybe she'd hear what else she needed to figure out about her abilities, as she walked closer to the door she stepped on a squeaky floorboard. The teens' eyes went wide when they heard footsteps coming to the door, they made a run for it as fast as they could. They were out of the house within less than a minute and were already racing back to the car. Mollie hopped in first on the passenger side climbing into the back seat followed by Zach rushing into the front seat, he slammed the door quickly while ushering Trevor to drive off as fast as he could. Trevor finally sped off but before they left the property completely Mollie turned to look out the back window and there standing by the old barn was the bright red-eyed alpha who had attacked them only days before, he had a burn mark still fresh on his arm.

" He had the burn mark. " Mollie said quietly trying to figure out every possibility on how he still had it. " If werewolves can heal, how come he didn't heal? "

Trevor looked at Mollie through his rearview mirror before looking back at the road and speaking. " Who knows molls, but I guess we have more to find out. " With that, the three sat in silence for the rest of the ride.
