I continued running, I couldn't stop now.

"Just get past the rock wall," I whispered to myself and ran as fast as I possibly could.
As soon as I passed the rock wall, I hid in a small cave covered by leaves and vines. They shouldn't have seen me, I wouldn't think so at least.

Trying to catch my breath and stay silent, I crawled to the back of the small cave and stayed as quiet as I could. My heart pounding against my chest as if it would pop out at any moment. I sucked in a small breath as I heard they're voices.

I stilled as Mr. Dean's flashlight peeked into the small cave. "She's not here, she got away. We'll find her, let's get back and call the foster agency. She couldn't have gotten far." He said, his voice getting quieter as he walked back in the direction he came.

I let out a breath of relief, relaxing against the cave wall as I couldn't hear him anymore.

I needed to get out of the country as fast as possible but where would I go? I'm not exactly of age to get a job.

"I'll rest here for the night and leave in the morning," I muttered to myself and laid down. Taking the blanket out of my backpack, I covered myself with it and put my backpack behind my head as a pillow. It wasn't exactly soft but it will do for now.

I closed my eyes, taking a breath of fresh air before falling asleep.
