Leonel pushed one side of the gate.
And Natalie was right.
Students were fighting, or rather, sparring, with one another. There were dummies, targets, and punching bags. There were also equipments like daggers, broadswords, bows, staffs, crossbows, shields, fighting gloves, katanas, and a lot more. And what scared her even more was the open space in the middle.
People were fighting-- using magic.
Damn. I'm in a Hunter's school?! And Sagittarius at that?! What was my father thinking?! I will get killed before I even graduate dammit!
Leonel faced her with a rather proud expression, oblivious to how nervous she was right now. "This is Mountainville University, house of countless Hunters that are training to be strong warriors to protect humans from vampires, werewolves, basilisks, and other monsters out there. Cool, huh?"
"Cool? I'm in danger, that's cool?" Natalie muttered to herself.
This would not only need a lot of getting used to, but she would also need to be wary. She must not reveal her true identity, or this will be the death of her.
She looked up at her roommate and smiled her brightest smile.
"Yeah! It's totally cool!"

Third Person's POV
"What the f*** were you thinking, Hebreus?!" JR shouted. He was currently talking to Natalie's father, and they were arguing about Natalie. She isn't the least bit safe here!! He thought.
"John, you do not understand--"
"THEN MAKE ME UNDERSTAND!! WHY DID YOU ENROL HER HERE!!?? there are a lot of Hunters after her freaking head and you, of all people must know that!! You practically threw her into the lion's den, for Pete's sake! DO YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO GET HER KILLED?!"
Hebreus, on the other hand, was going furious by the minute. The Varvakeions have been inching closer to the mansion than they had expected. They thought the enemy clan would reach them by Monday, but it would seem that they would be there by Saturday on the same week. He was supposed to help planning the defense and yet here he was, having a meaningless conversation with his friend. "How will I make you understand if you don't shut the hell up?!"
He heard the person on the other line, JR, sigh, "Okay... I'm trying my best to calm down now. Can you tell me why you sent her here?"
"The Varvakeions are planning an attack on us. And the Lithieum have no chance of winning, or even surviving," Hebreus said and sighed.
However, JR could not believe it. He would rather not believe it. He doesn't want to believe it. He laughed nervously, "Cut the crap, Hebreus. We all know that your clan is superior to others. You have weapons! Tons of 'em! What you're saying is impossible!!"
"John, my powers are growing weaker. The Cavaliers are consisted mostly of old men, except Julius. He was the youngest. Do you expect us--a bunch of frail old people-- to defeat his clan?"
JR froze. "By his.... Do you mean Icarus?" If it was him, then the clan will surely end up a bunch of ruins. They're damned if Icarus leads...
Hebreus nodded and groaned. It was Icarus. "Yes, John. Him. He made a clan to take revenge. To avenge Elena's damnation. And to awaken Zephyrus."
JR plopped down on his couch and breathed out. This situation was too...complicated. "Okay... But...why here? Why put her in the Sagittarius' territory when there are a lot more--"
"She isn't an ordinary vampire, John, you know that. She had mixed blood," said Hebreus, while JR hummed in agreement, "I want her to grow up strong. I want her to be trained. She needs it. And I know that Icarus will come for her once again once he finds out that she escaped. Besides, she deserves to be with her other family doesn't she? And she hates me to the core. And JR... Please watch over her. I've been sensing...something weird about her ever since she turned 16. Please don't let other Hunters kill her, too if they find out. If needed, tell the school, and Natalie, of course, what she truly is. And also, research the Excalibur. She doesn't know how to use it. Her... Mom wasn't, uh, here to teach her--"
"Shush, my friend. I understand. You have a point. Although, in a kind of twisted way. But don't worry, I will. Goodbye, Hebreus."
"Goodbye, John."
And they both ended the call.

A/N: I am really sorry for not updating for more than a week. I just got busy with school, especially practicing for dancing Philippine folk dance! —_— Just imagine how hard it was balancing a heavy (jar? I don't know, I don't care) thing on your head while dancing. It really hurts! After the dance my neck and the top of my head ached. How cool is that? Ugh.
And also because of Intertwined Destinies. Hihihi :>> For now, I'll break my promise because I need to do a project and I won't be able to update IDTD. Oh and I changes Deep Inside's title to Through The Barriers. And no, it's not a fantasy, just a teen fiction/romance story, ;)
Thanks for reading!! ;)
