4th String: Thrown Into The Lion's Den

Start from the beginning

He had wanted to ask Natalie so much questions, but thought better of it. He caught up on the signs she was showing, and he knew she didn't want to share anything about it. He wasn't that dense to not know how hesitant Natalie was acting. She didn't want to tell him anything, period. If she didn't want to, he won't push her. It would just make things worse. He badly needed a friend, a true friend, who would not take advantage of his intelligence and looks. All over the years, people always seemed to stick to him, and those people are all girls. For some reason, they were so attracted to him. They were practically worshipping him and the ground he was standing on.

And he hated it.

He was just human, like everyone else, but why is it that they treat him like a God? Even when they were all equal? That was a question that was yet to be answered by anyone.

But Natalie was the only girl who wasn't affected by his so-called charm. So he figured that she might be the only person that won't be friends with him because of his positive attributes. Well.. It was only a theory.

When it seemed like Natalie and JR finished talking, he took his opportunity and asked. "Uh, Natalie?"

The girl looked at him and smiled. "Yep?"

He was frozen for a second. How come anyone can look that cute? And she didn't even wear makeups! He was torn between just asking the question and pinching her cheeks. In the end, he just chose to ask her, no pinching cheeks, because that would make the whole situation awkward. "Um... How do you know my dad?"

Natalie cocked her head to one side. And once again, Leonel had to resist the urge to pinch her cheeks. She was just so adorable! "Huh? Who...? Dad?"

Leonel pointed at JR, who just grinned. "Him. He's my dad."

....

....

....

"What?!" Natalie turned to her tutor. "You're Leonel's dad? How come you didn't tell me?" She was worried. Did Leonel know about her family? Did he know how many others they have killed? Did he know that she was a bloodsucking monster? What!?

JR grinned at her and said, "If I told you about him, you would ask pictures and you'll probably ask me to bring him there so you'll have f--"

Natalie put a hand over his mouth and whispered, "Uncle JR! I don't want him to find out about my family!!"

JR frowned at her but just nodded in understanding. He then remembered something and cursed under his breath. The roommates looked at him curiously and he said, "You two need to change! It's 7:00! You need to be inside your classroom by 7:30! Quick! Move along, kids!" He stepped to the side and pulled both of the teens in. He pointed towards the two bathrooms. "Don't shower in one room! I have two so go!"

"But," Leonel whined, "we didn't bring clothes!" Natalie turned away. Her cheeks were turning red because of her holding her laughter in. This would've happened to her, if she hadn't put some undergarments in the Void. She always put some of them there, even pads, who knows when her menstrual cycle would start again? She isn't exactly the type of girl who keeps track of when it starts and ends. The Void always helps, and it's all thanks to her vampiric powers that she can use the dimension to put her things there though. But it's not really made for that purpose...it's for torturing the prisoners, or so the Cavaliers say.

"Natalie knows what to do, and you, my son," JR pointed his index finger at Leonel, "will be opening the closet. Thank goodness I put some of your underwear there!" He exhaled dramatically, which made Natalie giggle and Leonel narrow his eyes.

"Aha! So you're the culprit! My favorite ones were gone from my drawer!"

Natalie cleared her throat. "Um, as much as I find it amusing, are you guys really supposed to talk about things like that in front of me?"
