"Do you sing?" Seri asked with her face mask on while they stood in front of the flashy building with its illuminated glass facade.
"No, I leave the singing to them." Jeong-hyeok carried her boxes of belated Christmas gifts to the boys.
She reserved a large room that looked like a conference room more than a karaoke lounge with its velvet Victorian-style couches. It was extremely tacky and appropriate for those male executive crowds who would sing drunk with loosened ties and coats off.
"Captain Lee's here!" Ju-meok announced
"Hello Seri!" Eun-dong waved.
Kwang-beom helped Jeong-hyeok with the boxes as Seri peeled off her face mask and waved to everyone except Pyo Chi-su who was already at the microphone.
"Without you I can't smile, I can't move without you anything, I can't do anything. I need your love you know well why I am living alone without you I'm nothing I don't know anything but you, I can't eat well without you."
"Huh, he can sing?" Seri couldn't believe that kind of dulcet tone was coming out of Chi-su's mouth, it seemed like a forgery.
"He's the best singer among us and he knows it." Ju-meok shook his head, carrying the thick songbook. "Do you want to sing, Seri?" He offered it.
Seri politely declined, "If you hear me sing, everyone will cry."
Before settling on the couch, Jeong-hyeok stopped her.
"I'll get us something to eat. Do you want a sandwich? Snacks? Ice cream?" Jeong-hyeok asked.
"Mmm..." Seri tried to think, "I'll go with you."
She put the mask back on even though Seri doubted she would be recognized around. Outside, strobe lights bathed the narrow hallways leading to different themed rooms. The noraebang used every possible corner to sell, from snacks to beverages, from cigarettes to toys. If they couldn't find anything they like, they could just head down to the convenience store.
Seri only opted for a bottle of juice with Jeong-hyeok following suit. They were on the way back when they passed by a UFO Catcher.

"Jeong-hyeok." Seri tugged at his jacket sleeve, "Do you know how to play this?"
Jeong-hyeok backtracked to examine the claw machine that encased an assortment of stuffed toys: teddy bears, cartoon character rip-offs and dogs. "I did back in highschool."
"Are you good at it?"
Jeong-hyeok appeared to tilt his head in doubt—or was it humility—and then nodded, "I caught a couple of prizes before."
"Get me one." Seri egged on.
Jeong-hyeok decided it was better than getting back in the room and dealing with a squabble and so pulled out his wallet. "Which one do you want?"
