13. A dream world

Sara and I are helping Laurel get ready. She has this beautiful wedding dress on, while we're wearing these hidious bridesmaid dresses.

Oliver Queen may not have shown up at his rehearsal dinner, but he does now.

"Laurel, I-" He stops himself when he sees me and Sara.

"Don't you know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding?" I spat at him.

"Or skip out on the rehearsal dinner?" Laurel adds.

"I know. I said I was sorry."

"In a text." Sara points out, giving him a look of disgust.

"Sara, Kate, can you give us a few minutes, please?" He asks.

We look at Laurel and receive a nod. We walk out, but first Sara says to him: "You're lucky we're not trained assassins or anything."

A flash of me killing someone goes through my mind. This is just insane. I never killed anyone. Maybe I should lie down for a while.

So I go outside and lie down for a while. I wake up from the sound of someone getting hit. I immedietly run in the direction of the noise. I find Oliver Queen with a man I don't recognise. They're being attacked by someone with a black and orange mask, an armor, and a sword.

I don't know what comes over me. I run towards them and fight the guy. Sara comes too. Together we somehow manage to take him out.

"How did I do that?" She wonders, while I'm asking myself the same question.

Oliver leads us into the halls of the Queen mansion. "All right. This is hard to explain."

"Well, start trying." I say.

The other guy explains it. "We think we're in some sort of shared hallucination."

"What? That's crazy." Sara scoffs. "I mean not as crazy as me knowing Kung Fu, but it is definetly up there."

"That wasn't Kung Fu." Oliver replies. "That was Jete Kun Do, and I think that you learned it in a spot called Nanda Parbat."

Then he turns to me. "And you learned to fight with the Chinese mob."

I roll my eyes. What's next, we're kidnapped by aliens? "Nothing you are saying is making sense. None of this makes sense."

"All right Sara, Kate. What is the last thing you remember?" He asks us.

She shrugs. "I don't know."

"I mean, before you came here yesterday." He says. "What is the last thing that you remember?"

I remember waking up in my bed yesterday, but nothing before that.

Sara does. "You remembered something. Come on." Oliver encourages her. "Sara, come on. Concentrate."

"There was a fight." She says. "It was 6 of us and then- and then we were taken."

"Taken where?" The guy I still don't know asks.

"I don't know."

I recall what she just said. "Well, all right. There were six of us. Who were the other two?"

"Ray Palmer and Thea. I mean if this is some kind of dream or shared hallucination, then how do we wake up?" She asks.

"By getting out of here." Stranger replies. "The Smoak Technologies building. Maybe the reason why that place seems so strange is because that's the way we get out of here. Wherever here is."
